Dave's got a frog

Unread post by coyoteguy » Sun Jul 25, 2004 1:02 pm

I am going to see Dave in concert tomorrow (July 26) in Raleigh. He just left Charlotte and I was checking the setlist for that show and it said that Dave got a frog in his throat, meaning a sore throat or something but that is didn't let that stop him. Now he will get Sunday off and I really hope that throat thingy doesn't hurt the show. What do you guys think? Anyone experienced that a some show?

i agree. and the reason i think so is bc in songs like DDTW when he usually goes high on the "home" part, now he just yells it - which fuckin sweet as it is - but i think it's partly bc his voice is dying.

also - i could be completely wrong

His voice is dying? I never notice it. I mean, I saw him in concert this summer. He did fine. Infact, I think he sounded better than he did in the Central Park DVD. IMO, of course.

I was at Charlotte last night and Dave's was losing his voice. The show was still great he just had to sing some of the high stuff a little lower. Also, Carter had both his wrists wrapped but he didn't seem to be holding back at all. Personally, I had a great time and thought the show was stellar.

i know in the early days of DMB like the floodzone and trax stuff, dave would have to get shots in his neck durring the shows to keep his voice from dying out... also like clips i have of dave talking in like '93 his voice isnt nearly as deep as it is now, soo i hope his voice keeps going and doesnt die.

Maybe he just needs a little time off.

I love Dead in the Water from Central Park, especially when he absolutely screams that last "home."

When DMB visited 105.5 wmmm here in 1994, talking about their new CD, and the Mike Urban (the DJ, good guy) says how much he loved the album (UTTAD). Dave said his voice was going, but still did 5 songs, and it sounded strange but nice.

I'll bet it's the alchohol! Most singers stay away from it because it'll kill the voice. Dave on the other hand...
