How many times have you listened to one single song...?

Unread post by billywestom » Wed Feb 05, 2003 2:36 pm

Just wondering if anyone else has obsessed over one song for way too long. A while ago I listened to a song for two weeks straight, yes, about 15 days. Every time I got in my car, I would hit repeat on #41 from the L@LC album. Please don't tell me I'm the only one...

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

i think i've listened to tripping billies somewhere in the 15 to 20 days in a row. in my car live, in the living room album version, in my room dave solo, you name a room and a different version of the song and i've done it. mainly because i wanted to get the song down well enough to play and sing but also cause i think its the best dave song there is. warehouse too, especially the ending, "that's my blood down there..."
another one i just went through was john the revelator with carlos santana at the forest benefit 3-14-99, the chorus, "who's that writing john the revelator" and the groovy solo.

There are songs that I've no doubt listened to hundreds of times. But I never listen to a song more than (from your choices) 2-5 times in a row. I change it up more than that. I've probably looped a whole album 10 times in a row though. But not a single song more than that in a row.

#41 L@LC. first time i got that itwas the only 'music' i could hear. I used it as my alarm to get up in the morning - nuff said. Does playing it for 5 hours a day when you are trying to learn it count
