Those Beauford vids...

Unread post by whip3512 » Tue May 25, 2004 2:29 am

...are fucking awesome! I just downloaded a few of the instructional videos and I must say I am impressed. BK going on about them made me want to seem them pretty bad, and I'm glad now. Pretty entertaining. That guy is nuts!

To all you drummer guys out there (probably only BK), how does Carter rank among other drummers out there today? I mean, from an unbiased point of view, what do you think of him compared to some others? And who else is the shit?!

I was a huge fan of Carter and I also love Dennis Chamber! but I think Carter is now my fav drummer! I love his technique and his hihat work is prob. the best I have ever heard!!

Okay, here is the scoop with drummers. Carter...no where near the best. To be honest. soo many guys that can blow him away. Not to take away from Carter though, he is my favorite too, but so many guys out there that are just crazy. To anme a few, Dennis Chambers, Billy Cohbman, Dave Weckel, Roy Haynes, Tony Williams, Vinny Caliouta, Philly Joe Jones. Just a lot of guys. I am haveing a brain-fart right now and cant name too many more. Though, as far as todays drummers, Carter is probably the most talented. So many bands out today that are just wasting track. Mediocre drummers for mediocre bands, but the popularity of the country seems to enjoy them more. which leads to musicianship which I will not discuss again. Which kinda pisses me off when you say a famous jazz name to a kid with a million punk CDs who claims to know music and he says "never heard of him". Its sad, but great music is on a downfall. Great music of course being be-bop jazz of course.

th4e best drummers came about 409 yerars ago. since then most have died. Carter is the most talented of todays drummer, but that is with Pop/music and rock. He has potential, that is if he stepped out this rock gig he has and went for some straight jazz. I think he could do well.
