When did this happen?SRVDMB wrote:I think its not really a band anymore. More of an ochestra in some songs.
When they have a second sax with them it sounds crazy.
The band sounds great. I think its the difference in sound most people don't like. They have changed in a lot of ways, but I don't think musicians can stop change within them. I think they just play what they want to.
Tim Reynolds is a great guitar player, and everyone is allowed to have their own opinion.
I love LIOG on the Radio City where he plays one note for a minute straight..When he stops, it looks like dave says "Thank You"

Re: Butch leaves the band
I meant sax. I know at red rocks they had a second sax player. And at the show I saw in mansfield I believe they had a second sax player guest.
Sam Kininger.
Then add rashawn. I like Rashawn overall. I think he overly exposes his talents and people get bored with his solos.

Re: Butch leaves the band
Tim Reynolds is a great guitarist but he just doesn't fit into DMB, he clouds all the other instruments and most of the time makes just noises and "special effects" I mean listen to the intro of "Betrayal" from L@RC. seriously, who likes hearing that...
Plus I think Tim changes DMB's definition, they are known and loved as an "ACOUSTIC Rock/Jazz band", Tim smashes their style and you can hear less and less of Dave's guitar because he envys Tim and he want's to hear him play...
Butch was a great addition to DMB, he gave them that Jazz sound, listen to his solos on "Two Step" (My favourites are The Central Park Concert and the Weekend on the Rocks '05 solos) and you'll see what I mean
Rashawn? I think he's great, especially on ASTB, and if you don't like him I suggest you listen to "The Best of What's Around, Vol. 1" version of Warehouse, I think you'll change your mind after that
