Interesting. I'm not getting my hopes up, and I think the BTCS comment is setting expectations way too high, but this guy also seems a lot more aware of what this record needs to be.

These are all pre-planned comments to get the hardcore fan base riled up and excited again. They did the same shit with Stand Up with Batson talking about how great BTCS was and how they wanted to match that. And yeah he did know nothing about DMB when he was at their show last year at the Hollywood Bowl before he joined up with them to produce.

Bahahaha, bullshit. That's just stupid going around saying that it will be better than BTCS. Even if the album does end up being better than BTCS hardly anybody will admit it because it's held up as being DMB's sacred work. It actually kind of pisses me off that he would say that.

I dunno, it seems like one of those songs that has been around for so long that they would just keep it a live tune. And it was attempted in the past but never worked out iirc.

I think it'd be cool if they revisited some older tunes like Granny, Blue Water (wtf happened to that Stefan MySpace poll thing?) etc. but at this point I'm just hoping they don't fuck up the good newer ones and actually put them on the album they way they should be

he should have talked about how Boyd grew a 3rd hand so he could fret his violin faster, lillywhite is now a co-producer, and don't forget how Jerry Garcia came back from the dead to guest on the album...

all more believable then this being better then BTCS.

I am known on these boards for being maybe too positive with the band, but there's no way I'm falling for that one. I know DMB is still capable of good work, great work even... But to match their best? It would be very rare indeed.

This is a formal retraction of the article and interview titled: “Rob Cavallo Talks About the Upcoming DMB Album” published on the front page of Weekly Davespeak on 4/21/08. The entirety of the interview was a complete fabrication. An interview with Cavallo did not take place.

The setup for fabrication was extensive. I was personally defrauded by an individual on the phone, via email, and through private messages. I was provided both forged documentation and fake references. I feel that my trust was personally violated.

Weekly Davespeak in a large part depends on honest contributions from the Dave Matthews Band community. A great example of this was when we were approached a year ago by a community member interested in interviewing Tim Reynolds. That fan set up the interview, conducted and edited it. In turn, it allowed us to establish a trusting relationship where we were able to again interview Tim recently regarding work in the studio and TR3. I am very sorry for any trouble this has caused members of this community. I also wish to personally apologize directly to Dave Matthews Band and to producer Rob Cavallo. I hope very much to regain your trust through accurate and detailed content and information about Dave Matthews Band in the future.
