anyway I haven't really followed this thread but I have a feeling it's like all the others so I'll throw this in. Like I did on the others:

John Mayer relies heavily upon his ability as a guitar player. I mean look at songs like Neon. You can't deny that he's a good guitar player. He just plays a lot of goofy love songs, that teenage girls (not all teenage girls mind you) go crazy for. Dave on the other hand, does what he wants, but relys heavily (perhaps not as heavily as mayer) on his ability as a song writer. They are both very good in their fields. I like John Mayer, and some of his music, I just couldn't go see him more than once live. His energy on stage is amazing. My only beef with Mayer is that he gives little acknowlegment of the rest of his band. Note that it is not The John Mayer Band or something along that lines, it's more of a solo act, although his "backup" band gives him a lot of uhh....good backing? Anyway, hopefully with time John will see his wrong doings and change his ways towards the path of righteousness following Dave even closer than before, but until then we'll just have to put up with more threads like this.
