Yeah I read about that, fans always brush it off as an exaggeration, but its the truth Dave still drinks heavily quite a bit. And thats what leads me to think its was something much larger during the LWS and not Dave's drinking or depression that lead to them scrapping the whole thing.

who is to say it was just alcohol, especially if he was hanging out with trey and a bunch of other musicians. the last time i saw trey band which was 2-3 months ago, trey was far from sober. that is kind of lame, to get that trashed when you have your kids and wife there.

The real .shn loseless files are out there, they sound a little bit better than the mp3's.

I don't even have a complete LWS. Dammit.

I'm at school too, so I definitely can't go and look it up or anything.

My ex had the entire CD and I listened to it all of the time. But we parted on fairly bad terms, and I'm not going to ask him for a copy. That would just be rude.

Sweet Up and Down and JTR are 2 of the best songs ever written by the band. The jam in JTR is the best jam the band has ever put together.

Sweet Up and Down is really boyd's last great studio solo.

Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

I bet SUAD and JTR are disliked and are never played is because they particularily remind Dave (or the band) about the whole recording process with Lillywhite, don't hate the actual song but the memories of making it.

I look back at the LWS as a waste of amazing potential, everything has been different ever since, but does an interesting quality to the band's legacy

I would like to see an album produced by Carter and Leroi...definately not stefan (unless he writes songs like he used to).

Mabye the band had enough of trying to make these amazing songs and found a comfort level of just wanting to make music and sell CD's as much as I hate to say it

That's exactly it. They are so worried about getting bogged down in the studio again and ruining their friendships that they are settling for mediocrity in the studio.

It sucks, but it must have some ligitimacy eh
I mean just listen to the difference after the LWS (minus busted stuff, but again that was released to keep fans happy). Whether their later stuff is better or worse there is an overall huge difference in feel and emotion and complexity. There is no way the band suddenly ran out of ideas (except for bartender and YNK)...they wrote some fantastic songs since (crazy easy, joy ride, hello again, loving wings, sugar will) but where are these tunes now?

its a shame, I know there is no limits for this band musically but the potential is being traded for income.

Sadly I think money is what keeps this band going. I'm sure Dave has better ideas in his head then being told by Stefan to write a song about oral sex. The fact is they know that they have such an amazingly loyal legion of fans that no matter what they put out it will almost certaintly go to #1 on the charts, so what does it matter to them if it lives up to a BTCS or not as long as they make the same cash.
