I know it's subjective and all,

but :? :x
Oh, I forgot to tell the new guy that if BTCS isn't you're favorite DMb album you must shoot yourself.

Why don't you follow Rantings lead.... :P
What the hell? Because I go around claiming I know that "in my heart" BTCS is the best? Sure. Seriously, there is a point where the subjectivity line has to be drawn. I think it's safe to say that BTCS is a better album than Stand Up. The lyrics and synth drums alone put it behing btcs as far as quality music is concerned. You can like them both, but also to say that BTCS is the worst in the catalog is RIDICULOUS. It isn't my favorite either, so don't try to pull that crap on me about not being a fan or something or thinking it's the best album. But seriously...what did a bunch of smileys have to do with you touching my buttons like you always do

Agreed. But he wasn't saying "YOU MUST THINK BTCS IS THE BEST ALBUM" he posted a bunch of confused smileys when the kid said that BTCS is the worst, which of course can be his opinion. But he also knew nothing about Everyday.
LISTEN TO THE ALBUM. It is more produced but the Dave style is definately there. LISTEN TO IT. Its a bit different but they are all still fairly the same. I have the album. I know much about it. I like it. Just because Dave used an electric for a lot of it doesnt make it dramatically different. Just like Stand Up is different but any DMB fan could listen to it and automatically tell it is a Dave album.

The problems with Everyday have NOTHING TO DO WITH THE SONGS. They have to do with the fact that it is NOT A DAVE MATTHEWS BAND ALBUM. It is a Dave and Glen Ballard album, and should have been labeled as such. If you'll search, you'll find that the band members (Carter has been most vocal against Everyday) were completely uninvolved in the album and were simply the studio band for Dave and Glen.

I'd just like to say after listening to these on my ipod, I'm very disappointed. Hearing in much more detail, the drumming is very lacking except for in a few select songs. The beats are just so standard. Hopefully these songs will get tons of loving on tour and spiced up a lot. They're a solid set of songs, but they said it was focused on carter this album, and I really don't agree

DAve and Glen spent nine days in a studio in Los Angeles writing the songs for Everday. Everyday was the first album that DMB wrote out sheet music to. The rest of the band flew out to the studio in Los Angeles after the nine days and added their pieces to the songs. I don't know if Glenn and Dave wrote a lot of the music for the other instruments but I HIGHLY doubt it. In my opinion Everday was a wonderful album, with songs like Fool to Think, The Space Between, When the World Ends, Dreams of Our Fathers, So Right, and I could keep going on. I loved Everday. I loved BTCS(my personal favorite album ever), Crash, UTTAD, Some Devil and Busted Stuff. As for this album. The lyrics seem very lacking, I actually had to listen to Dream Girl twice because I didn't believe I heard Dave sing a couple of those lyrics. This new album has very very heavy HIP HOP feel to it. I love rap and hip hop, and I love the Dave Matthews Band, but I think the two are much better seperate. So far the new album has not impressed me, but I of course will give it time to grow.

This cd was pretty good. Took some time to get used to some songs, but overall is pretty good. I have to skip trakcks, which i dont like, but overall i cant wait to hear them live.
don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this love's too good to last and i'm too old to dream

don't grow up too fast don't embrace the past
this life's too good to last and i'm too young to care

don't kid yourself and don't fool yourself
this life could be the last and we're too young to see

It was a fucking joke.... God, wipe the sand out girl.

Anyway, I will agree that BTCS is better than Stand up. Of course that is only our opinions though.

I wasn't aware that I touched your buttons. <--------- That's funny to me.

The only thing that you have a problem with about Everyday is that it wasn't written by the whole band? So if the entire band got together, wrote an album that sounded EXACTLY NOTE FOR NOTE the same as Everyday, you would have no problem with it?

Holy crap, HFTGL is so fucking explicit! Dave is usually sort of metaphoric, but this is crazy.

Yeah, it's way worse than Rapunzel as far as explicit lyrics go. And I bet it still won't get a Parental Advisory sticker, cuz he doesn't say fuck.

I enjoy a good majority of the songs on Everyday, so yes, I think that I could enjoy the album if it was an actual band effort. As of right now, I just think about how selfish the entire album was on the part of Dave. I think he realized that pretty quickly, so I'm happy about that.
