I think it's kind of funny how some of the reviews have cited the line, "Your top was untied and I thought/How nice it'd be to follow the sweat down your spine" as poetic lyrics from the album. I think it was tictacs that pointed that out as being weak, and I agree it is weak for Dave. Maybe reviewers are incapable of comprehending the depth of his songwritting beforehand, so a simple line gets them and that's poetic.

You know whats funny about dreamgirl, After hearing the brief snippet of that song on one of the dmbnewstudioalbum.com videos, before I even knew what the new song was or had heard it in its entirety, I wrote a song in the same key with a similar groove. I didn't think much of it at the time, but when I listened to the whole album on VH1.com and heard dreamgirl, I was like, "Oh shit, please God don't let this song sound exactly the same as the one I wrote." Thankfully it doesn't the only things similar are the key and the groove.

Musicians do that all the time though. I heard somewhere that the intro to Stairway to Heaven was copied from some acoustic folk piece Jimmy Page had heard.

I do love dreamgirl, though. The moans in the beginning give it an emotional edge.
Forget about the reasons and the treasons we are seeking
Forget about the notion that our emotions can be swept away, kept at bay
Forget about being guilty, we are innocent instead
For soon we will all find our lives swept away

That's bullshit.

I haven't heard the album yet, but that statement as a general sentence standing on its own? Fuck that.
Stay with me, safe and ignorant.

I'm not huge into Led Zepplin, but some of the biggest fans they have have told me that's how most of Led's songs came into form. Older folk works taken, twisted, and given the rock sound.

I've held off listening to any of the tracks on this album until I buy it Tuesday, but by the sounds of the reviews, it's more in the vein of Busted Stuff than Everyday, which is obviously good news.

Can someone suumarize the general buzz on the reviews so far? I'm ashamed to admit, but I don't have the time or patience to sift through the previously posted reviews.

So I looked over at Ants for the lyrics, and someone who already has the cd said that you cant put it into iTunes and transfer it onto your iPod because of some sort of anit piracy thing they put on the cd. Supposedly its only on the dual disc version. I hope this isnt true, I want those versions as well as the bonus disc on my iPod.
