No. It's easy, but when you go into the studio, time after time and you come out with nothing, failed attempts to start a new project, to fans that is disappointing, and they know that, but you know it's not top secret that they have had failed attempts in the past 3 years. This time, it's different. For one, they have a goal—they have a direction. They have a producer [laughs], they know what they want, the best thing that I can say for the fans to be excited about it is their is no dead line! There is no rush whatsoever. They are doing this album at a comfortable pace, they are writing songs like they haven't written since the days of living out of a van [laughs] you know?

These sessions are exciting, and these guys are having a blast! Each member has a key role in each and every song we have explored. A creative circle is what we've come to know is the best way to get everybody’s input to flow properly.

We had Danny Barnes in studio to play banjo on a few tunes, get a few samples we may use here and there, and I think it worked out very well, Tim Reynolds playing again, a key role in this album as he did on 'Before These Crowded Streets', giving the tunes that extra layer, to not push it over the edge, but just enough to make you say "yeah, that's it!” you know?


Dave is exploring the gryphon viellete guitar a lot in his solo sessions, a lot of the material we are working on is based around that guitar,

Butch Taylor is working very closely with Dave on a few songs they seem to have a pretty close relationship when it comes to writing music. RaShawn is in studio, but has yet to really have a key role in the songs were are working with, but with trumpet it can be added last minute, right now he is actually coming in with Carter on the back up vocals on a few songs we have recorded thus far.

While on the road we will continue to write and record material

Poorly written and very juvenile, but at least we got some kind of feedback. Looks like Cornbread is a lock to land on the album. He mentioned songs of the past few years...Here's to hoping for some 04 tunes.

What songs that we know of already are written on that guitar? I cant really think of what it sounds like or if I like it on their tunes.

Idea of You and Shotugn. I like those songs, but I don't know if I like the sound of the guitar enough to hear a full album of it. I guess we'll see.

I like shotgun. I'm not in love with it, but I think it's a pretty solid addition to the album in any case.

I was thinking...They were in studio in 06 and 07, weren't pleased with the results, and went and road tested. I like that. Much better than the SU sessions, which seemed like they took 2 weeks

I am hoping they actually care about their product this go around and it seems, if nothing else, that they are putting in more effort.

yeah i don't buy the "greater than BTCS" stuff, but at least he's saying the right things - i've said this multiple times before and i'll say it again - anything this band puts out as a studio release will be fine with me, i really like hearing new songs, and since they're my favorite band, there's a very good chance i'll really like it - i can't wait for this album
