I posted this on my own thread and i'm just going to ctrl-v here.

I think that it'd be great if they put a bunch of songs on there that people might not have heard, either because they weren't released as a single or were never officially released at all. Or to just get the cream of the crop from the live recordings.

What You Are
Blue Water
Crush
Crazy Easy
Don't Burn the Pig
Dreaming Tree
Halloween
Little Thing
The Stone

Guess I didn't lay the sarcasm on thick enough in this post.....I was joking with these picks..... Unfortunately I think 'Where are you going' will be on this CD.....Followed by Crash and Satellite.....

I guess it's a good idea for a casual fan, but I doubt any of us will grab it because we already have all the songs I think.

If anything I'd just use the tracks I already have and copy them and label it as a different CD. Unless of course they do use live tracks that are rare.

Oh ya fruitcakes, there is another band that released a greatest hits cd about 6 years ago: Bela Fleck and The Flecktones, and I don't think they are on a downward slide

i can't say anythign abou this without coming off like a dick.
all i'll say is I completely disagree and am thinking negative thoughts on you.
thank you for sparing me.

I just feel like most of us here wouldn't need a greatest hits cd, at least if it was only studio tracks.

And I'm assuming anyone has access to the voting right? I think more casual fans will be voting than more serious fans, just like there seem to be more casual fans at shows today than serious ones.
i disagree 100%. typically only the die hards actually read the emails  and know of these things.
and you said new, not existing fans. I think greatest hits albums RARELY bring in new fans because they are always hits that have already gone over the public once before. if you didnt pick up then you are likely not to pick up after.
actually theres some bands where i only own a greatest hits album, cause there will be af ew songs i want but theyre all spread out... and i dont like the band that much to own them, but a greatest hits cd gets me what i want and its cheaper... then id get hooked on other songs. so it does work that way.

there may be a few pros to doing thid but it totally blows me away that they would do this. it doesnt make sense when you think about it (i mean we all have multiple versions of every spng anyways). It's weird b/c I was began talking about this with friends recently and said they would never do this and the day they do will show a big change in the DMB character.

I am just hoping the next album blows me away and that they still have their fire.

But what will come first?? GH album or the next studio album?
