i just have to say this... It seams like most people here at my college own the "everyday" album even if they dont like DMB... For most of them its the only DMB cd they have and they love it because it does not sound like them and they like that... It's a great album, its just most of us have grown up with DMB and because it sounds different we dont like it. Regardless of how different it is, its a great album... I liked American Baby, it sounds a little different but Daves voice pulls you in... Great song with a great message (and this is comming from a Republican...) I always admired, even on the vote for change tour, that dave made you all feal equil and didn not patronize you for not voting for Kerry, its this sort of "united" atmosphere we need now.

American Baby
I just want to say that the first single from any album is always going to be the most radio friendly. Most of the best DMB songs are some of the least radio friendly songs I've heard. There are alot of people who dont like DMB and the first single is going to be the most generic song on the record. I use the term generic to describe the fact that its going to blend with all the other pop rock on the radio. Thats not to say the rest of the album will sound like this but they need at least one song that can be played on the radio. Im sure once we hear the entire album there will be songs that we all will fall in love with and some of them are probably not going to be radio friendly because they will only appeal to fans of DMB.

Wow, after hearing all this good stuff about the album I must admit that I'm a tad dissappointed about this song. Not one thing jumps out at me that I like. Hmm, oh well. Hopefully the other songs will be better.

Also, I don't see how anyone can think this is a radio friendly song besides the fact that Dave sings the same thing over and over. Its not radio friendly, but repetitive IMO.

Exactly. Not even comparable. The only non-repetitive, non-boring ass part was LeRoi's solo at the end, which was abruptly cut.mbgreen wrote:The fact that people need to make excuses or concessions for the song speaks for itself.
I mean come on...WWYS was a single. Crash, Crush, Too Much, DDTW. We're not even talking the same arena here.

I don't hate the song, it just doesn't sound like the same band that moved me so much back in the mid 90's....
Where is the punchy guitar? Where is the bad ass drum solo? Where is the insane violin? Where is the booming horn? Where is the freaky bassline?
I just really hope that the album is much deeper than this song.

Does everyone really hate busted stuff that much? I don't want to say it has my favorite songs on their because I listen to all of daves music equally. However, songs like Raven, Captain, You Never Know, Big Eyed Fish and Grey Street are so fun to play on the guitar. I would have thought other people would feel the same way.
I have been thinking that for a while....ants is being lameKahnTheRevelator wrote:i think ants should donate all they own to dmbtabs.com so this site can run the shn server.
