everytime he's ever played kit kat jam it's had different lyrics. as of recently he has been singing about plastic super heroes and their plastic assholes, pretty humorous.

yep. i think they decided to leave it wordless on the cd was a) it's a jam, b) it's a treat for live shows?

i dunno just a guess.

at first i liked YNK like everybody does, but the whole "i think i can.." bit really ruins the song. bartender is overdone, and grey street is really cheesy when you listen to it a lot. as for everyday, i hereby condemn the entire album! really, it wasnt quite that bad, but it didnt sound like Dave Matthews Band at all.
now I must disagree with you here:

#1: I like the "i think I can i think I can" bit, and I think it add to the song - not ruin it.

#2: Bartender will never be overdone.

#3: Grey street doesn't get cheesy, its an epic song (whatever the hell that means) but it just doesn't

well, I guess I'll agree with you that Everyday doesn't sound like "DMB" but it's still a very good album, and Dave's singing on it is better than any other album besides Busted Stuff.

peace,
Ken

you should've gotten it right the first time around on the record :P then you wouldn't be so sick of it. yeah, I really don't listen to Dave all that much. :? sounds weird I know, so maybe that's why I don't find them as awful as all of you guys. I play them a lot more than I listen to them. I recently downloaded the Dave and Tim show that you guys were raving about from 3-24-99 or something so I listened to that. I downloaded the show I went to this past summer so I've been listening to that. And I listen to the Benaroya solo show a bit. But as far as the albums, I listened to them a lot over the summer - going to and from work and whatnot (40 minute drive or so) so maybe I should've stayed out of this lousy thread, but I didn't so this is what you get. :)

oh, what was that you said about stopping talking? :P

peace,

Well, you can't really say it didn't sound like dmb. sure, it didn't sound like jimi thing or trippin' billies but is was dmb. i give major props to dave for being able to be so positive all the time. you can't judge dave for the songs he writes. i think he is a very honest song writer and if the songs on everyday was what dave needed to put on an album then so be it. i don't think dave writes songs to entertain others, i think he writes songs for himself. probably doesn't give a damn what others(critics)say, hopefully.
My wife and i danced to "the space between" at our wedding and i basically listen to "everyday," everyday of our honeymoon so for me the whole album presented itself to me when i was on my honeymoon. i do admit that the cd took a little longer to love than UTTAD did but now i love everyday and all the song on it.

Okay, AATW just because I think it is played too much in concert, The Dreaming Tree, and true reflections. I like just about everything that has been released....
Its cold as hell outside
But our fire is bright
And in your eyes
I can see what is on my mind
You got me wild
Turned around inside

All Along The Watchtower was the best song written by bob dylan maybe. but not Dave Matthews.
There's a question to be debated....what's the best song Dave Matthews has written? Let me think......(i just got done watching a movie at the theatre, i brought a bottle of wine with me.....i'm drunk) my favorite song that Dave has written is probably Tripping Billies. I know that he didn't write the main chorus(Eat, drink and be marry for tomorrow we die) but i think he bridged the space in which i never really understood or respected that line in the song. Plus, the music for Trippin' Billies is awesome. I am drunk though, i might have a totally different opinion tomorrow morning :D .

I also think Tripping Billies is one of the best songs Dave ever wrote, for the simple reason that I have never gotten sick of it. after countless times of listening to it and playing it. I still enjoy it when I listen to it. what else makes a song great? another one is Ants Marching, Two Step, .......oh Warehouse! defineately one his best. as for worst? I don't listen to Mother Father much - and its not talked about at all really except about how people hate it. so that's a #1 contender for the worst song, I guess.
good, and you?
