Nicely put isaac. Anyone else out there think that rap shouldnt be calssified under the music section? or am i all alone...

many would argue that point. i wrote a big long schpiel about it before...to sum it up would be that rap is more akin to spoken word/poetry/whatever you want to call it, so it'd be more performance art, as stated before, than really "music." and there are some rappers out there that are decent, i.e. their content, but we're just exposed to the overproduced ones who talk about they hoes n' bling bling.

Yes thats the way I look at it. You play an instrument with 3,4..5 other people, and you all come together to make some kind of music, then your a musician, and I give you credit. But if your jus up there dancing around singing like a girl with 4 other people, or getting 10 of your homies on stage and rapping. Sorry, no respect for that here.
