If I absolutely had to pick a song from that album as a "favorite" it'd probably be American Baby (I love Hello Again, but not that bullshit on the album. Also, YMDT is cool live but the drum track serving as Carter kills it)
Robert Randolph made that song even more awesome live, plus you can't argue with Dave's Jerry Jones baritone guitar on that one.

Yeah sure RR is great and all, but that doesn't change the fact that I want to strangle Jesus everytime I hear "baaaaaaYOUUUP"

Bayou has easily become my most hated DMB song, not because I've always thought of it as a terrible song, but because thye play it at every single fucking show since '05. I've seen it like 12 times live since it was released which just pisses me off.

They need to revive Hello Again, hands down my favorite song off that album (just not the album version). YMDT is awesome too but I wish they'd put it in the closet for a while, its starting to wear down on me.

Ehehe I have only ever seen them play it live twice, I don't go to every bloody show, nor do I travel for concerts if it means leaving this country to go across the boarder. I believe I have only missed one show in Toronto between 04 and now, pretty sure it was last years show before LeRoi passed away. I forgot what the date of the 04 show was, it was like a week or two before or after I saw Deep Purple though, can't remember as my memory is a bit fucked to be honest (long story that I hate discussing since it's personal). Either way, the less Stand Up and more of the good stuff the better, I personally got sick of hearing the title track and that same god damn guitar riff a million times both on the album and live.

You shouldn't have said anything, "leaving it at that" is not these boards' forte.

SPOILER
But that is!

 Good one Evan. Ya aint so bad for a Habs fan :P

And seriously, it's not a fun thing to have. Not being able to drive for a few years, basically not being able to drink at all is no fun when you have to take pills for the rest of your life.

On the new album, I don't know if I've heard one song I want to listen to all the way through again. Maybe LITHOG. But the album production sucks, the lyrics suck, most of all, the music sucks (all IMHO). On Stand Up at least I'd want to listen to American Baby and Hello Again.

This weekend I listened to BTCS, Crash, Everyday, and a live 2003 tape (and a little bit of Some Devil, but that doesn't really count, I suppose), and it totally confirms for me that the band has completely lost their special qualities that I used to love.

Band should have called it quits after LeRoi died. They're only getting shittier.

(this whole post IMO)

1. Under the table edit /btcs
2. lws
3. crash
4. busted stuff
5. big whiskey
--the rest

i think big whiskey will grow on me... very different than the other dave albums, i didn't get hooked immediatley, but after listening to the songs 3-4 times through im getting more into them.. so after a few weeks the album may move up on the list.
