When they say nothing will ever be as good as D+T, that is elitism.

Maybe to them nothing will be. If they really love D&T as their favorite musical act, then its what they love. Just becaue they have a strong affinity for it does not make them elitists. If a man loves his wife more than any other girl, hes not an elitist for it. He has strong love. As many do for D&T.

No im not. You're saying just because they think that nothing musically will beat D&T, they are elitists. Which isn't so. It's not that difficult to understand.

I am not difficult to understand.

When you outrigh say "nothing is better then D+T" that is elitism, however you look at it.

Dave and Vai would be interesting to hear. As far as Tim vs. Vai, it's a matter of opinion. Vai is just as skilled, possibly more skilled than Tim when it comes to shredding, but personally I like Tim more, even if he is a little sloppy. Of course, that's not saying a don't respect Vai and his amazing talent. As somebody stated earlier, some shred guys are unlistenable for me. Steve Vai usually does not fall into this category FOR ME, but guys like Malmsteem do. Personally, I'd be shocked to hear anybody work better with Dave than Tim does, but I'd be willing to give it a chance.
