I was big on the 8.25 performance for awhile but I got to say now that the first performance was still the best one

The 1:20 mark when Leroi and Rashawn come in for the first time is best thing I've heard from this band in 2 years.

For me, it's all about dave's voice/inflection, during lines like "rain raiiiiin..." and "broken by the glass, alwayyyyyyys."

Yeah I like that as well. I wish they kept going in this direction for the song, it just doesn't sound quite right with the other part

interesting article indeed, although not theologically sound on a point or two:
"There is a catch; they’re not literally dying. They’re previous existence is what is dead. Now they’re both “falling.” Sure, falling can represent falling down from life, but these two are literally falling; falling from Heaven. This is why both “long to be, beneath (that) dreaming tree,” before they ate the fruit and became human. Both of their initial reactions (mentioned above) are anger, but in the end they just plead for a guiding voice."
"The Dreaming Tree tells the story of Adam and Eve’s fall to earth, and their anger and angst reciprocate throughout all humankind."
those i'd have to disagree with - "adam and eve" didn't literally fall from anywhere - IMO, eden and heaven aren't the same thing by any means

I see it more as a fall from grace, or loss of innocence.

i thought the article was interesting overall, but i think jake needs to work on his lyrical interpretations.
"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex, and more violent. It takes a touch of genius -- and a lot of courage -- to move in the opposite direction." -- Albert Einstein

I always thought that it was about loss of innocence. And with that I thought it interesting that Dave kind of used a anti-romantic theme and mixed it with a very romantic object

Damn listening to the LWS all the way through, especially after a hiatus, is the best thing ever.
