that song is such a mess
it's not there most elaborate piece of work, but a mess? be specific. becuase it's on SU?
Lyrics are bad, guitar part is basic. Its terrible in the studio (you can actually hear the loops in Carter's drumming) and because the constant repeating of "Stand Up!" over and over again became so annoying they decided to just let Carter break it down and take a couple solos instead. That, to me at least, shows how rushed of a product it was.
Right on. the whole studio album was completely rushed, but live it's a different animal. the repeating of stand up does get ridiculous, but that's what i love about dmb. you can listen to a song and be thinking, wow this is shit, but then they throw in a bridge and it brings me back to the good old days.

Sure anytime Leroi solos your going to enjoy what you hear, but you can't ignore the fact that the core of that song is anything but old school DMB.

And the song title is Stand Up (For It). What exactly are we supposed to stand up for? :?

Don't get me wrong, I love the band. Great bands make crappy albums. It happens.

The Dreaming Tree from that show is absolutely sick. I what Rashawn adds to it.

dmbalmanac has added a cool little 'this day in dmb history' section to the front page where you can see on this date what shows were played.

there were a lot of shows this past tour that should have been released instead of Fenway. those shows are seriously lacking in the setlist department compared to what they were playing earlier in the tour

A Gorge set would have been nice.

well they planned to release fenway before the tour was over.

so looking at two night stands from the first leg...
i would of loved Deer Creek, Star Lake, or SPAC over Fenway

yea they obviously did the Fenway shows because it was a rare venue, otherwise maybe they would have conisdered doing another typical venue that had a great set or recieved a lot of praise from fans or something.
