Why would DMB break-up?

i dont think we have to worry about them playing anymore. they love music and they love playing together, they're not just gonna stop. but this could have an impact on some new stuff they will come out with in the future. i would assume after they finish the tour they will take a while off. i guess we're just gonna have to wait and see. thinking about leroi during big eyed fish and bartender from folsom field just about makes me cry

Not to ruffle any feathers, but roi was...easily replaceable. Talented, sure. But not beyond the realm of replaceable. They'll keep playing if they want to.

Yeah, I loved roi, he was amazingly talented, and nothing will be the same without him... However like green said, not irreplaceable. Carter might be, but if the band so chose, it could still go on strong with another sax player. it is sad though, i loved what he added to the mix.

I think it'd be cool if they had a different honorary guest sax player each year/tour. It would fill the void musically and negate the need to find a permanent replacement.

I was thinking the same thing. Although I'd be cool if Bela Fleck stuck to the late fall/winter tours and have Jeff around for a bit.

Jeff sounds like a sax member the band doesn't have a problem with at all. The Flecktones and DMB must be pretty close (considering the flecktones message about leRoi). Besides, having a different sax player every year implies teaching him the songs all over again...I don't think that'd be convenient...

Jeff would very likely play (so I think) until dmb finds a new sax player, or decides to not choose one.

I only hope the band chooses one, and not Batson or any other shitty producer.

Did they rehire Batson? wtf?
