Somebody said it earlier, i think it was Gianni, but they should def go back to having Dave write the songs focused on his guitar and lyrics, and then have the band wrap their instruments around that. It was so much better that way, and a lot of classic DMB songs were written that way.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Dave has some great musical insight, but I think when he's with Tim there's a lot of Tim saying, "Why don't you play it like this," or "Why don't you try adding this," which makes the songs so much stronger.
I think Tim helped Dave mold a lot of their classic songs into what they became. Dave may have had a basic outline of the song but I bet Tim used to have a key role in helping dave really finalized a lot of his songs.
