hey beeches. the last stop is not overrated. i've never heard the damn thing in four shows, and i doubt i'll hear it at my next two. plus, since the last stop is one of the primary examples of songs that go on hiatus from time to time, it is not overrated. in my opinion <- to prevent violence.

jimi thing is overrated. it's univerally been said that it needs a rest.

HHW can't be underrated because it was played like 5 times.
overrated/underrated doesnt ALWAYS correspond to how much it has been played. i think the last stop is overrated because of how much praise it gets on these boards, not because of how much its been played.

i think overrated means that many people say it's awesome when it's really not as much. the last stop is awesome, and because of how frequently it is played, it remains show. if it appeared as frequently as jimi thing, it wouldn't be so good. something being rare is what helps make it a good tune.

D'oh! Can't believe I forgot about Spotlight. Great old song.

Anyway, I thought we already determined the difference between over/under-rated and over/under played. HHW is under-played most certainly, but not too many people give it much praise, or even much thought, for that matter, thusly making it under-rated.

I think Last Stop is over-rated because people love it, rave about it and IMO, it isn't that great of a song. It's fairly simple (mostly power chords), fairly uncreative and, IMO, of course, fairly uninteresting musically. The lyrics are good, but it needs more than that.

Also, rarity alone does not make a song good, which I think a lot of people get confused about, or at least mis-lead themselves about.

Maybe I have missed all the raving about the last stop because I don't recall people on these boards busting a nut over it. I personally love it solely because of the reprise outro, its my favorite intro/outro of any one of their songs.

Over - Ants Marching. Yes it's a great song but many think it's their BEST song which it isn't.

Under- Spoon all the way. I suppose it doesn't get much attention because it's not very "riffy" but it's one of his more inventive chord progressions and the melody is amazing.

Ants is not the best but if I werent so sick of it Id definitely place it top 3.

#41 is the best and never gets old.

Over - Satellite (After her is so great and I think that satellite is such a let down compared to its original.)

Under - Pig (This is a song that can be played soft and quite or loud and full of passion.)

I suprised to see no-one mentioning any of the Some Devil album. I thought a few of the songs off there would have got a mention.

Im still leaning towards TLS being over too.

Over - Seek Up, 2Step. Two great songs, but they should shake it a little bit from time to time.

Under - Minarets, WWYS, Crash. For the fact that the last two are overplayed, people tend to think that they aren't as good as they really are. Crash is just a beautiful love song, and Carter just kick some ass on this one, and WWYS is probably the most creative riff from Dave Matthews.

Stand Up album is another underrated example, but is just to soon to decide about it, most "non-likers" will change they're mind. (I hope!)

I do not believe Seek Up is over-rated what so ever.

I do not hear many people talk about it, but that just might be me.

I think Seek Up is a amazing song with amazing lyrics.
Not over-rated in my book.

I can see how everyone thinks WWYS is over-rated though, it definately is. Also Satellite is definately over-rated.

YNK is VERY under-rated, and so is IIHIA. You can go on listing a million songs that are under-rated though.

It's actualy a beautiful song, but here im Brazil it's a really top5-song.
YNK is VERY under-rated
IMO, YNK i'ts one of their best songs, but not so often played, so I guess that's what people don't rave so much about it as it deserve. Probably best DM lyrics up with SoL, and a ver, very, very intrincate intrumental part.
Just one of the best (again, IMO).
