they dont have mics and headphones connecting to each other do they?
thats what those little white things in their ears are for.
are you talkin about the same things that Nitro is talkin about? ive seen the ear-buds but i thought that was the music as it would sound so that they can hear what they are playing on in the right time without the echo and whatnot....but nitro, ive never seen them talkin to each other and i thot those radio lookin things were for the wirelessness of their instruments...never noticed leroi with one
Haven't you ever downloaded an IEM recording from a show? You can hear them after songs ripping on people, pointing out hot girls in the audience and talking about how they screwed up a part of the song they just played.

Yea, IEM's are used to communicate on stage..if you never knew, it's pretty loud when thousands of people are clapping and stuff

Just playing a local bar gets to be very loud. My buddies bought a wireless pair for the bars they play. It sucks if I join them on stage becasue they dont have any monitors, so I cant hear shit.

For the record, you shouldn't be talking about trading IEM's on the boards. If you want someone to hook you up with one, email them or PM them or something, just don't do it on the boards.

well im not really that interested if its something i shouldnt be talkin about on the boards...but just out of curiosity, why? i mean, is there a particular reason they dont want people to hear it? i guess pointing out hot girls and stuff isnt the most respectable thing to be doing but is that the reason?

I am by no means the authority on this subject, but from what I've heard IEM recordings are not allowed for two reasons:

1. Like you mentioned, they can say some things to each other that they don't want the public hearing

2. The IEM feed isn't properly balanced (I suppose it's bias towards the musician that is listening) and the community doesn't want the less-than-ideal recording in the trading pool.

One thing for sure is that DMB does not allow it so I must condemn it... I'm sure if you're curious you could download one, hear what it's like then just delete it. I don't really think you are missing anything.

Yeah an IEM recording is like a cheap knock off of an SBD, its definitely better sounding than any fan recording however.

I know quite a few of you guys are pretty lazy  and others who don't like SoulSeek, so, with the help of jsgksu, I have downloaded the "Stuff Busted" CD set. I haven't listened to it all, but from the bits and pieces I have listened to I don't think any true fan should be without it.

Here's a nice little link for you guys:http://s44.yousendit.com/e.aspx?id=0UVV ... B76BCDQBU5

Have fun!

an IEM will allow the musician to hear their instrument better so that they don't feel or get lost in the mix. for example, in stefan's IEM, you will be able to clearly hear the bass over everything else. If you listened to a regular recording, the bass would not be as clear, as it would melt in with the other instruments, which makes the song what it is, but isn't the best for playing the instrument.

pretty funny what it ended up turning into haha on rapunzel, i like how he fades his voice away from the mic bc he screws up...the improv, although very long and strung out ended up sounding ok...pig on the other hand, screwed up the verse and ruined the beauty of the song...eww haha oh well, we all make mistakes, dave is human obviously which is a good thing to know.

thats what i thought....but the mics to communicate with each other i guess is another purpose of them
