just such a good mesh with the drums and the sax just sings for dave it seems.

I've neevr listened tot he whole thing before. Never really liked it. Maybe I should give it a shot... I have the one from the WH disc.
i really liked the one from GGP, but i was just listening to the recording from TOronto last year, it was great.

but damn it's such not a traditional dave song, but it works so well.
Actually it was written before Dave started to use that philosophy of song writing. I think it is pretty crammed with words, he hardly stops singing throughout it. Anyway, the song is amazing like you said, and that guitar part is just so cool.

The way everything fits together is stellar. It's one of my favorite songs of recent time.

Sugar Will is simply one of the best songs Dave has written in the past 4-5 years.

Is the timing of the song really that weird?
I was looking at a tab online and i think it said that part of it was 7/8 tioming, but then you play the 7/8 twice followed by a 2/8 or something since carter is playing a 4/4 the whole time.

me = idiot with music.

the timing is only odd on the chorus, i found a really good bass tab, when i learnt that, i saw how easily that funny timing actually is, its just as it sounds.
something about learning the bass tab, even if you dont play bass i find helps you realy get a song, my crush sounded 1000 times cooler once i worked out how the bass and guitar interplay and ajusted my guitar playing and approach accordingly.
sugar will is great, and easy to learn, it basicly involves finding a chord, and dancing your pinky up and down in an odd manner, and then repeating at a diffrent position, once you learn the pinky riff (quite tough on you finger and mind) the song comes in seconds cause all you gotta do is move it around.
if you play it as it sounds in your head, some how, dispite the complex 4/4 Vs 7/8,,,,,,it comes together without paying attention to the timing
