When vic plays with the flecktones he doesnt' overplay because that's how he plays with them all the time. with dmb, he would overplay because stefan doesn't play as busy as victor, not even half as busy. i've listened to vic before i was even into dmb. i've seen vic play, it's just how he's going to do it. he can't touch a song without having a solo. he just can't. ever song he's in there is some kind of solo, except for possibly the quietest flecktones songs, which are usually on fretless and in which he usually has some contrasting melody.

haha i KNOW he plays a lot. i have live at the quick dvd(love it), live art, outbound, and three flew over the cuckoos nest. im just sayin that just because he plays a lot with them doesnt mean he would with someone else, he just plays whats needed from the bass, and on flecktones, they need a lot of intricate stuff...im just saying theres no telling what he would play for dmb because he definately takes in what there is and what the bass needs to be. thats all im sayin, he is situational, it just so happens that weve not heard much of him in a situation where he needs to be like stefan in dmb

haha sorry i dont mean to be ignorant or whatever. in my opinion, this has been a very nice argument/discussion about this, cuz we havent gotten into name calling and shiat. ive never heard him with gov't mule...is he the bassist or is he guest performing? what songs should i get to listen to?

I recognize the amazing skill of every member of both of these bands, i meant it more towards the energy they show during shows and the way they work the crowd. Minus the two one sthat really have no affect, and add in the two from Bela that really get eveyrone going, and thats a 5 man all star team of crazy energy - Stefan needs a new jam, sorry buddy the bass dance isnt working

Are we going to the same band's concert? LeRoi plays some really awesome lines during the shows. Cry Freedom last summer was sooo pretty and I think he's gotten better with age...he adds to the shows quite a bit. And Stefan! Wow, that guy has stolen the show the last couple tours. How can you say he doesn't add to the energy of the show? Stefan grooves royaly.

The deepest end...they have stefan, victor, mike gordon, all the great bassists today, fill their role as a bassist.

Stolen the show.. mm, i beg to differ - late response i knwo but i didnt know this thread kept going. Leroi's stage fright upsets me, i think he picked the wrong profession. Sure he has amazing talent, im just saying Jeff would have better stage presence.
