Who thinks Dave smokes pot??

there's a big difference between being a pothead and burning every so often

i'll burn every so often when i have everything taken care of...i'd be willing to bet that when dave decides it's time to kick back, he's not completely against taking a few rips

Dave almost def smokes pot occasionaly. Just because he has kids doesn't mean he quit for good.

Now, in the past...Dave was a flat out pothead. But that was in his 20's(and earlier) during major touring years when DMB was getting known.

There is DaveSpeak somewhere of him coming back on for an encore and saying, "Sorry I took so long....I had to smoke a bowl"

Bottom line....is he a stoner now? NO......has he been in the past a stoner? YES........does he occasionally smoke pot now....in my mind, NO DOUBT.

probably did and know prolly doesn't as much, if at all. I'd still give him a jay just for good measure.

I STRONGLY disagree. Just because he is married and has kids doesn't mean he doesn't smoke anymore. I wouldn't doubt that he smokes at least a few times a week.

All these quotes are confusing the fuck out of me. But yeah I agreed with DMBartender cuz he said he didn't believe what he heard (about dave not smoking), hence the :thumbsup:

Ok Dave definatly has in the past.

First at some of his live shows you can tell hes stoned just by the way his eyes are and the way hes talking.

Second I remember when Dave was inducting Traffic I think it was into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He told a little story about when he was drunk and stoned and stuff one night when he was younger.

Now also I heard in an interview that since he has children he was trying to clean himself up. In a Dave speak he was saying how he was trying not to curse as much anymore. And in an interview it said something about him not drinking as much.

He definatly has, and I dont doubt he still does ocasionally, but I dont think he does it as much as before.

I've said it before, Dave is a true star and a master of image construction. There are so many times I've seen Dave and I thought he was stoned out of his mind but it's really just his act, his bit, his routine, whatever you want to call it. Dave's a very smart man.

With a family, and being much older now I can only assume he's given up the heavy partying that he once was accustomed to.

Of course, you can't be on the road with Trey and not partake in a little ganja action, right? (at least ganja anyway, lol)

I think "ganja" frees your mind and helps give you more creativity. I agree with pretty much everybody else that has posted already that he most likely did it a lot back in the day, but now he has slowed it down... just my .02!... and I agree with c_tietze, there has been many times it appears that he is stooooned out of his mind, but then I think that thats just kind of his personality.

i heard a davespeak from a dave and tim show where the first thing he said when they came out on stage was something like "we just smoked a fatty in the back" i think that answers the question right there

When he was inducting Traffic I'm pretty sure he meant he was tripping. Can't remember why though.

Thats not word for word but its pretty close. Its as close as I could remember.

Hate to say it, but, I don't think I've ever met a musician, other than say a classical performer or opera singer that doesn't use recreational drugs at one point or another.

You opera singers and classical virtuoso's don't fret, I'm sure you TOO can do drugs.
