i am sam2 wrote:carter fits dave's style of music PERFECTLY...you cant just add any regular rock drum beat to songs like Stay. i only have one question for you drummer experts(cuz i dont know anything about other drummers out there who are amazing, like buddy rich)....can these superior drummers do the same kind of stuff carter does with daves music?
yes. But if they didnt know what Carter would do, they probably would do something different. Hard to say. It all depends what the drummer first thinks off when they first here. Though, in terms of skill, yes.

Here I will sum this all up for everyone. You cant really compare Carter to many drummers, not becuase I thinks hes jesus(which I dont), but because as much as you like to think carters a jazz, and when I say jazz I mean jazz-jazz, he really isnt. If there were any kind of drummers to compare to itd be fishman from Phish and other fusion drummers. Ive seen drummers close to carters style rip up a drum set with 8 total pieces more than he can with the huge thing he plays. The thing is, to compare drummers outside or near the genre is #1 opinionated and #2 impossible, different genres require different skills. So thats the cherry on this sundae...

Exactly, that guy always looks like it's his first concert ever and he's having the time of his life, whereas Dave just stands there looking kinda pissed off.
Dave doesn't look pissed? IMO he looks like he's having just as much fun as Boyd or Carter, jammin' hard to everysong....
Please send me the full pic of this if you have it Kulkini.

Futureman is underrated. I know you all frown on him, but IMO rhythm is rhythm. He plays some funky ass times (11/8...2/4th...etc...there are more i am forgetting)

I never said he was bad. Im just saying 2/4 is no big accomplishment. If anything, it makes things much more simple.
