Huge dissappointment. I was expecting all three shows on dvd. We had to put up with their bullshit boom stands the whole weekend...I mean, they even asked for fans to send in videotape of their gorge experiences...traveling, camping, etc. This had the potential to be a sweet ass release. So weak.

Well...considering that for a week now I have been downloading a killer 8 CD compilation of the Gorge weekends over at Sharing the Groove (and I'm only at 51%), I will not be buying the commercial CD set.

I will buy the DVD, but I am dissapointed. Like others have said, this project was originally supposed to include the entire weekend....but I also seem to remember that a long time ago, DMB Management asked fans to send in copies of their own (fan made) video footage of things like the jouney to the Gorge, campground scenes...etc. etc., which I thought was an awesome idea....those integrated into the pro shot would have captured the whole Gorge experience which, sad to say, I have yet to incounter 1st hand.

I noticed the other day in the Trading Forum that Mr. Matty Boom put up a link that had all the DVDs available for DMB concerts, and I happened to notice that on that link, they have all 3 night of The Gorge, 2002. So now I'm confused, could someone enlighten me on what's going on. Cause if that's the case, I'll just B+P someone for all three nights of The Gorge 2002, but if I'm mistaken I'm still going to buy the actual released DVD/CD set in late June. I hope I'm not the only one that notcied this :?
Chris,
Those are fan made DVD's...which are shot primarily from one angle....and the quality can vary. Personally, I love fan shot shows because it captures the experience, but you can't beat the quality of pro-shot......although some of the rapid changing of camera angles can get anoying sometimes.

Yeah Danny, I knew that the quality can vary with fan DVDs, but since they do have the entire 3 night concert of The Gorge on DVDs that fans made, I wouldn't mind seeing the entire 3 night concerts and then compare with the actual release that DMB. And I know that it will be high quality video, but like I said, wouldn't mind seeing the entire thing on DVD. So when I get money, I may have to hunt some of you down to try and B+P the fan DVD set ;-)

If i had a lot more space on my computer, I would take the fan DVDs remove their audio and then put the audio from the 6cd pack on there. It would be tough to get it tobe totally in sync, but worth it.

why does this suck? It's all three nights, unedited.. why is everybody complaining about it? I preordered it as my birthday present(which is tomorrow) so it's quite worth it to me
Shows Been to: 7-17-02, 12-15-03, 7-20-04, 7-5/6-05

because we were under the impression that they would release DVDs of all 3 nights, like they said they were going to originally, in addition to fan-submitted material and documentaries.

I don't remember them ever announcing a 3 DVD set. I don't remember the band ever announcing even a 3 CD set until a few days ago. I remember a lot of speculation and "inside sources" saying a 3 DVD set though.

sorry, i misspoke. when they asked for fans to submit their own footage, they implied they were making a large DVD set, which is what I should have said.

Well happy birthday kido! My birthday is June 4th and I told my Dad that he can make me very happy by getting me the entire set, or just give me the $90 to get what I want! In addition to my girlfriend getting me concert tickets for my birthday, this may every well be the best birthday ever! Happy 21th to me in 2 weeks :-D
