So I know nothing about travel in Europe. How hard/expensive is it to get around? Like if I flew into Amsterdam, is it practical at all that I could get to London? I realize there's like a lot of water between them, but are there ferrys or something?

i have taken a train, that is a little expensive. i think something like $300. you have to go to brussells and catch a train from there. so actually closer to $365.

you can often catch cheap flights to and from all major western european cities, but it be very hit or miss. sometimes you'll get lucky and get a $20 flight, sometimes you get shafted and have to pay $200. just dont use a major airline and use easy jet, ryanair, etc...

i think there are ferries you can catch, but those arent cheap either.

my friend hitched from amsterdam to london, only 8 hours.

he met a group of brits whp drove to amsterdam and they drove the car back to london, going under the tunnel (it feels weird going under the sea on a train, worth doing.)
not hard to do, plus you can get flights from easy jet and ryan air for NOTHING, i once flew to florence from london for £24 inc air tac
