I got the 6.02 show converted and I am about to up it to my site in a zip file, I don't think I should though because I'm worried the tapers would find out and get pissed about their shows being spread in MP3 format

I say no here, and no to most spreading of mp3 shows. These guys really do a lot for us and I try to respect their wishes. I totally understand though, those who don't have the disk space for lossless files.

But here's what happens. You up this for folks to get, they get it in the mp3s, burn it for their friends, who rip it in mp3 again, then burn it for someone else who rips it in mp3 again, and again and again until it's unlistenable and relegated to Kazaa by some 13 year old who now thinks the band puts on a shitty show and that tapers suck.

And if you have the disk space but refuse to learn how to use FLACs, shame on you. That's just stupid laziness.

Yeah your right. I could up it in FLAC, I think I have the bandwith, but then people might as well just get it from a BT site.

It's going to be way faster on BT anyway. I just downloaded that show in about a half hour this morning.

that is so not even a realistic thought process its fuckign astounding.

i think most tapers are self riteous pricks and need to get over it, who gives a fuck if i convert MY copy to mp3 and share it wil my friends. I cant hear the difference, and i have never heard an mp3 go from flac, to mp3, and get ripped and sent so many tiems it is deemed lower than a B quality.

but this isnt the thread for that I guess, i know we had a debate gong somewhere.

Get real. I'm glad that you personally can't hear the difference.
And the prick in the situation would not be the taper. They've spent thousands of dollars to produce quality recordings and give them away with one request of the listeners.

I was at my friend's camp so I didn't see the setlist for that show until the night after and it was too late to change my picks.
