same here, im not getting my hopes up too high, but if the rest of the new songs that debut this tour are as good as The Idea of You then this album is going to be very good.

i hate to be debbie downer, and czech has already said this, but i said the same thing in 2004 after 5 great fucking new songs and two pretty good tours in a row. then we got stand up. i'm a pretty low-maintenance dmb fan — i enjoyed busted stuff a lot, but another stand up isn't going to cut it. has the band backed off repeatedly saying they're going back with batson?

Well I'm going under the assumption that this time they will actually use the songs they play this tour on the album. And they are going back with Batson, there is no question about that.

They must recognize the difference in the reaction of the crowd between when they play Idea of You and when they played ODH though...

They may, but it may not be what they want to do. They may want to go in this new direction, and that's perfectly fine with me. I'd much prefer the band stay true to who they want to be than to pander to the radio or the public — I just won't be listening much anymore, and I'm sure they're okay with that. This is all just my opinion; my opinion is mine, and it works for me*. I'm not trying to force my opinion on anyone else or, god forbid, the band itself.

the truth for me is, i liked stand up for the most part - i think it would be hard for me to not like the next album, especially considering i really like a very large percentage of music from DMB - of course i'm biased because they're my favorite band, but for me, hearing new music from them is going to be a treat no matter what - bottom line, i can't wait to go to the 2 burgettstown shows and hear the new album whenever it comes out

I can't really see the new album being another stand up... I don't think the band is dumb enough to do that.

Yeah me neither, they are doing things the right way this time by road testing first and then recording.

I really like what Roi is doing at the end of JTR lately, he is adding a few more notes and it sounds fucking terrific.
