Dave went to Ballard out of pressure from RCA, the fact that they dropped him after one album should tell you all you need to know.

I wouldn't be so sure that he ends up producing this next one. They brought Vining in to co-produce and now they are having problems getting it going. There are rumblings that Batson may be out.

Not the only answer. But it would help. I trust anyone who's produced records for Windham Hill a lot more than I trust Ballard.

Not that I even care anymore really. Until something drastic happens, I've pretty much written dmb off.

If this Batson rumor is true... I would be even more excited then I already am for this next album.

I've said it dozens of times, but I didn't mind Stand Up as an album overall although it was completely different... I thought it was a more light-hearted fun album... I dunno, as long as it's music I like to listen to I still support DMB. I know it's not BTCS/UTTAD but I mean c'mon there never is going to be another one of those... that's why they are so great... Most musicians never even hit that point in their careers; where they reach the pinnacle.

I'll be honest, but I don't think DMB is quite done with some amazing things. I have a feeling that they've still got the potential to put something amazing out there, they just need the drive again. UTTAD was made up of songs they'd been playing for a while now, songs they were playing when they were trying to make it. They had a lot of drive in those days to really try and make something great.

They just need the right person to give 'em a push, I think.

Personally, this band hasn't interested me in at least a solid year. Maybe they will do something creative and intriguing this time. The difference between UTTAD and SU was just so much that I'm not sure they will ever or can ever make it back to that place. And that was the band I loved, so i dunno...
