WAAAAAAAAAAAYYYY better than dave!! are you kidding me?? carter is more talented tahn a lot of musicians outside the band too. the guy is incredible. one of the most talented drummers of all time, in my opinion. but they guy is just so good at what he does, and he has such an amazing love for it and music. i've also heard that he's the nicest and coolest to fans and stuff of the band. He is infinetly better than all the other band members.
i wish i could meet this guy....

You could at least give some real logic for your argument.

Yeah, Carer is by far the most talented person in the band...by far. He is definitly close, if not is the most talented person in rock music today. I agree with about everything mikey says except when he said Carter is one of the most talented drummers of all time. Eh, I hate to say it, but there are MANY more talented drummers. I would name a few but you guys probably wouldnt know who they are.

I'm with Joe on this one...while I'm not absolutely saying the next album will suck, I'd probably bet money that it will. The past three releases have been subpar, in my opinion. Some devil was OK at best. If anyone else put that out, it wouldve sold as well as Boyd's album. There were a few gems...most notably stay or leave. Everyday had a few tight songs on it, but if you hold that album up to any of the previous ones, its nowhere near as good. Not even arguably. For Christ's sake...they wrote, played, produced and recorded one full song per day. Busted Stuff had some great potential...but then just got torn up. Raven, Captain, Grey St...all butchered. The album didnt have a good "flow." Seriously, when was the last time that album was in your player? Thats what I thought.
I'm just going off of past performances. Dave seems to be having fun on this latest tour, so hopefully that will invigorate him a bit. Get the blood moving again. The last three albums seem to have just been put out for the sake of putting out new material, at least from my perspective. They havent sucked...but they have been drastically overrated.
You guys may think differently. Which is fine with me.

yeah. just dave's need to branch out, i think. you can only do so much similar material before you need to just take a break, but this break's been a few years going, and maybe it'll never be the same. no point in trying to dwell on the past. the old material took a bit to grow on me too, but some songs i've immediately loved and they're few and far between. i'm keeping optimistic, though. the band seems reinvigorated, central park was a success, dave's having a blast with other people but it's making him want to get back with the band even more, this one's going to be centered around carter...all great potential. with all of the new experiences that are going on, hopefully that might add to something.
but really, i'm just a dmb fan wanting to put something new to put on repeat in my cd player again.

Heh, I guess a little bad news guys. Depends who you are. I have been watching the Victor Wooten/Carter Beauford DVD and they had a interview with Carter. This is about all that sums up where DMB is going:
Grey Street is there Favorite song
They still wanna branch out
They enjoy the old stuff, but still wanna branch out
Heh, not much I know, but it isnt looking too good. AH, what am I saying, I love all the albums. For real too. I still dont find anything wrong with Everyday, BS, and SD. I liked them a alot. They may not be as intense as the others, but they sure do show some musicianship. (drumwise and some guitar)

Ha, I would never do something like that. That would be the end of the world for me. Jeez. He wouldnt do that anyway. I am sure he knows he is the bread and butter of the band

There's nothing wrong with branching out. Its just the way they've gone about it...half assed, and for the wrong reasons. (READ: To fulfill a record deal with RCA so they can dump them.)
