i bought UTTAD first, then Busted Stuff a little while later and just like them ok. they were good, but i wasnt obsessed. then i decided to get Central Park, the dvd. thats when i was like "wow these guys own"

6 or 7 years ago i had just flown to newyork from england and couldnt sleep in the hotel room so i turned on the tv.....list supported was playing.....the "in the spotlight" thing where listener supported was on tv.
i came in at two step....and remember getting so excited by this amazing drummer that i wrote down tthe name of the band to buy the cds the next day and im so pleased i did......bieng from england no one myself included had any exposure to them so it was strange to learn that dave was a household name in the states...........any way thats how i first heard......they do something so different and exciting with there music . im glad that i bought those records.....(crash and recently first)

now that is fuckin sick.

the only shitty part which there really isnt any, was that i was so new to the whole thing i didnt really understand the shit the way i do now. there are no holes in that setlist, if i were to write out a dream set, it wouldnt alter much.

it was 06/02/98 in case you want to find the show, it was amazing i have a copy on cd somewhere around here i think, i need to rip some of my shows and share more of them i have over 120 shows somewhere

dude the energy was mind blowing, i thought i was just getting numb to the experience. but when i went back and looked at some of the old sets ive seen earlier today, it was the incredible shows ive seen, especially pre-2001

Those sets are nasty. Anything from 2000 is just out of this world. They had all the R2T, UTTAD, Crash, BTCS and LWS songs going at once. They couldn't possibly play a bad set, I love any song off those discs.

sortof a dmb memory but its when i started playing guitar, it was about 3 or 4 years ago i guess. i had just stopped playing sax and was starting guitar. i went to a guitar store and asked.
"is there anyone here who gives guitar lessons?"
guy "yeah i do, what kind of stuff do you want to learn how to play?"
me-an 11 year old kid who has known of dave for years but just clicked with him in the past week says "
"dave matthews"
he just looked at me for a second and said, ok, i charge 50 every 5 weeks, lets start next week.

3 weeks later he taught me typical situations.

i just kinda like that story i guess.

I tend to not tell anyone im into DMB, funny enough, people make more judgements of me when htey find out I like dmb more than how i look.

but yes, I do often get, "Wow, you like DMB?" But i think its funny, a lot of girls way to hot for me have fucked me... ..why? because they said I looked mean but when I was nice to them they thought it was so sweet. what they dont know is that i am a nice fucking guy, they just thought there were special.

and to be dead honest, I would never want to look like the typical DMB fan :lol:

i finally went to my first concert the 2nd night of giants stadium shows in 2001...i missed the first night, where dave played that two step in the rain, anyways it was a pretty good show, i remember so right and jtr being insane
