but
am i the only one who feels like all of his riffs (just as like a solo intro to LB or whatever when he plays with the band) have the same feel? i dont mean it like "allman brothers" style riffs, i mean a very similar sounding riff that he seems to come back to ALL the time? anyone else notice this?

i see why youd say that...but ive been to shows by both and it just seems that RRFB isnt, at this point, big-headline quality. i mean, they are certainly amazing and have amazing energy, but to me it seems the type show they bring isnt of the same type that DMB has for that 17+ song setlist as a headline at a big place like the gorge. i can see RRFB being headline at a multi-band show at a college(been to that) and they are certainly in the top 5 in terms of current live acts. i just dont see them doing a show as long as DMB.DreaminBassMunky wrote:Dave Matthews Band should be opening for Robert Randolph and the Family Band. it was a slight exaggeration, but where would the world be without points made by exaggerations?i am sam2 wrote:i see why youd say that...but ive been to shows by both and it just seems that RRFB isnt, at this point, big-headline quality. i mean, they are certainly amazing and have amazing energy, but to me it seems the type show they bring isnt of the same type that DMB has for that 17+ song setlist as a headline at a big place like the gorge. i can see RRFB being headline at a multi-band show at a college(been to that) and they are certainly in the top 5 in terms of current live acts. i just dont see them doing a show as long as DMB.DreaminBassMunky wrote:Dave Matthews Band should be opening for Robert Randolph and the Family Band. I don't mean to be rude, but I HATE oar. I was actually suppose to go to both concerts in Hartford this past weekend, where Howie Day was opening the show. The thought made me sick, but that's hardly the reason I didn't end up going. I would have killed to see RRFB or J5. That's the good stuff.i am sam2 wrote:yeah i gotcha...i wish they were openin my show...we got OAR, who i like, but they arent as good as RRFBDreaminBassMunky wrote:it was a slight exaggeration, but where would the world be without points made by exaggerations?i am sam2 wrote:i see why youd say that...but ive been to shows by both and it just seems that RRFB isnt, at this point, big-headline quality. i mean, they are certainly amazing and have amazing energy, but to me it seems the type show they bring isnt of the same type that DMB has for that 17+ song setlist as a headline at a big place like the gorge. i can see RRFB being headline at a multi-band show at a college(been to that) and they are certainly in the top 5 in terms of current live acts. i just dont see them doing a show as long as DMB.DreaminBassMunky wrote:Dave Matthews Band should be opening for Robert Randolph and the Family Band. i liked them just enough to have one of their CDs but when i saw them live at the Ryman Auditorium, i found a whole new respect for them. i just thought their show was awesome. it was partly the awesome intimate venue....did you see them at a big place or a smaller place?wkpggrvn2001 wrote:thank you, what is so special about OAR, ive seen them live twice and they blow, i dont see why people dig them so much, but i guess everyone's tastes are different
