I juts have so much respect for Dave and the band. It seems he puts effort into having a private life and that makes me respect him even more. Theres a lot of unknowns about Dave and thats the way he wants it it seems, good for him. He knows how to seperate fame and family and we dont know about topics like this b/c we are not suppose to know perhaps.
Just a thought

I saw something on Vh1 about Dave... I think it was Driven. Anyway, in the show it said that his sister was murdered by her husband and then her husband killed himself. It also said that his dad died when Dave was 8... not sure what killed him.

Wasn't Gravedigger written because of the deaths of so many family members? Well, maybe it wasn't the abundance of deaths, just the amount of grief it left him with?

I think it was just an introspective song asking the "Gravedigger" to dig a shallow grave... When he dies, he still wants to feel rain. I'm sorry that was bad, but you get what I mean.

I think he was trying to write a song that would win a grammy.

I thought his dad died of cancer. Could have been heart disease though. I've always been kind of fuzzy on Dave's family past.

His dad died of cancer. Also, if I'm not mistaken, his sister Anne's child (or children) live with Dave's sister Jane.
