Alright, he doesn't know shit about them because everybody wanted to hear them because of they're different style of music and their talent.. what an idiot.. that's why places were asking them to play there every week to draw in customers.. yes, untalented overtly commercial and arrogant jerks..
that alone is bullshit. Charlottesville isnt very close to richmond....not at all. I know, I used to live there. I went there a while and was like Damn, I wanna go to millers, but fuck, that is a long way! so yeah. anyway, these people dont know what musicianship is. Cant blame them though, most people in there teens and some people in there twenties dont. I dont even have the full notion of what musicianship means. However, I can recognize who has it and who doesnt. DMB does, phish does, everyone else that sells millionso f CD's dont. period.

I'm still waiting, but I'm guessing the guy's top 5 bands are:
1. Good Charlotte
2. New Found Glory
3. Simple Plan
4. Michael Bolton
5. George Michael

(and I bet he's a closet Backstreet/N Sync fan)

i found it quite humorous. people have such a deep loathing for someone with success - i find that strange, but whatever, thats their opinion. i just hope people dont write shit like that about me when i'm famous (hahahaha)

this guys is OBSESSED with NOT liking dmb. Now, he has a problem, and completely no life.

Personaly, I was amused, what total shit. Good people? Me, and my family have liked DMB since 1994. We are in no way normal. Me I am some fucked up weird peace loving cuddling spaztic insane random musicaly loving artist that recites monty python and has tons of john lennon posters while making cartoons of stick people getting killed.

Now, I am not a Frat or a Teeny Bopper. My mom is nice and mellow, but has a joking side to her, and likes weird things, and all sorts of music. My bro is a casual wearing guy, skinny, slightly buffed, and is an architect. He liked dmb as well as my mom in 1994. My dad, a hermit who likes old music, always pesimistic, grouchy, stays in the basement working on radios and his stereo system, watching Discovery Wings, playing Pink Floyd louder than hell. Once he saw them taped live for Listener Supported, he respects them a lot, and when he heard David Gray (thanks to dave and ato records) he actualy found his new music enjoyable, and I even got him his first album A Century Ends.

Now, that guy knows nothing. It doesn't piss me off, it's laughable. Anyone who is his friend must be annoyed by how much he HATES dmb, lmao. I would hate to be his friend. Also, being around someone who is Obsessed with dmb, they are actualy talking positively, and I would rather be around them than someone complaing about them.

Messege to the guy, get a life, and a job, and such, and stop this idiotic thing, but I bet he won't, so too bad for him, what's for dinner?

There is no band I disdain more than DMB because of the fraudulent nature of their sound (selling "alternativeness" to poseurs who cannot tell the difference). ABBA had more conviction and talent than Dave. Go pick up a Rattlemouth CD if you want legitimate underground progressive rock from Richmond and find out where Dave got the couple ideas he managed to steal and reinterpret ad nauseum to the Amstel Light crowd.
The ABBA and Amstel light references made me laugh..haha

If you get pissed at every opinion you don't agree with posted on an ezine you are going have a very stress filled and short life.

Having said that, it sounds like this kid got stood up for the prom and still hasn't gotten over it. Hemmingway he is not.

I can handle "I don't like his voice" or "I don't like the sound" but when they outright say he's a bad musician you better be ready to fight.

LOL, good for you Whit  Hearing that definitely made me laugh out loud! I'm a very open minded person, but when people DON'T like anything from a certain artist, it gets me a little perturbed. But to each his own. He has to be a lonely individual ;-)

yeah, but in truth, all that does is gets him more angry and negative about dmb, and makes him want to fight more. I am sure he knows some of the things are shit, but he twists the words to serve his purpose, likt eht bit about them not being liked in c'ville (he said richmond, idiot, lol) when they were wanted anywhere and drew huge crowds (just like the Beatles in the Cavern, but no Beatle mania stuff).

I just say don't pay attention, make it not worth it for him to spread that, and he will eventualy give up.

NO he is right...He wasnt saying C'Ville is close to Richmond at all. He is saying that he is from Richmond and DMB played there several times a week. (Floodzone or Trax cant remember.)

Anyway, I love hearing negative reviews about DMB. I like knowing that there are people out there who don't like them. Just 1 less rude person at a live show.

The truth is the band has come too far to be affected by negative reviews. (Sometimes they deserve them)But they have staked their claim in Music history and will hopefully be playing for quite some time.

i dont' understand how people can say that daves lyrics are bad. do they not have "real" lives? people these days say a song which is only about picking up a hot girl in a club is good music. and to say that the band has no musical talent, what?? i was gonna post on that sight and challenge them to learn a musical instrument and find out for themselves just how tough it can be. fuckers.

Amen. Guitar, no it is not hard. But, it is one thing to be able to play it, but to make it up on the spot is completely different. Second...drums. Few years I have been trying to play jazz. I have gotten good, but sooo damn far from doing it justice. The likes of Roy Haynes and Philly Joe...just listen to that. That is playing busy...but making it tasteful. Picking your battles I guess, but so much more to that. Ask a professional drummer to play like that. They cant. Jazz is so much different the rock. everything is different. so much better.
