I'm a teacher and my students know that I'm a big dmb fan and they claim to be as well. So I played them the new single and one of them responded "Don't really like it. Song is kind of boring, seems to be drawn out and slow. I hope the rest of the album has more of a 'Hunger For the Great Light' feel." The fact that my 16 year old student didn't like it, gives me a weird feeling of restored faith. As for me, I enjoyed the song. Feel much better about this one than I did when "I did it" and "american baby" came out.

the lyrics if people want to read them - at their best they are great and at their worst they are like a other father/dreamgirl hybrid (run!) - i like those in italics though

ill say one thing of this new music - its quite complex arangements with very clear sections of the songs - which you cant really say of stand up


also - there is a piano part and we know butch was not there - will we see Dave sitting at the keys on tour??

i've listened to this at least 5 times today - it continues to grow on me, and i can't wait to hear it live

alright, just heard the single for the first time. Overall, I think it's meh. I like the chorus, but the lyrics don't really do much for me. Def reminds me of the power pop sound of Everyday. I hope the rest of the album isn't like this.

Very solid show. The return of Spoon and first full band Stay Or Leave. Plus, I was there and that's always nice.

Pretty good overall. I don't really like the Chorus, sounds very poppy. But the rest of it is pretty good really. I think my favorite part is Boyd's violin solo part. Not just his part there, but everything going on there was really solid. Maybe was only like 20 some seconds or something, but it really brought me back to old DMB just for that small part there.

A few, actually. Live Trax 8 (also Alpine Valley), one of the Weekend on the Rocks shows, and Cry Freedom and Dancing Nancies on the Some Devil Warehouse bonus disc were from when Dave & Tim were in Kenosha in '03.
