Maybe all the fame and money really has gone to his head, and that's the reason they aren't making good music. No more pajama pants for the big music star!

really. If I didn't know Dave was such a cool dude I'd think he's a prick based on that article.

I'm still interested to hear the album. This funk/rock stuff sounds weird for them, but I guess we'll just have to wait and see if they pull it off.

Yeah I'm still very interested, I'm sure everyone is, but that article kinda seemed like a downer on my excitement. It does sound exactly like the Stand Up process.

Elaborate, propulsive grooves from Carter makes me anxious.

Dave Matthews wrote:I spoke with other people that had lots of ideas for how they would record the band. Which made me think "Fuck you, you don't have a fucking clue how to record this band, because nobody does-yet." We have a new style

From ants:
According to an upcoming article by Rolling Stone, the previously mentioned Shake Your Monkey is actually Shake Me Like a Monkey. That also works with a Twitter update from December where Dave used the phrase "Shake Me Like A Monkey" (see, told you Dave wasn't just randomly twittering). The article also confirms Dive In as a title (which was can confirm as well), and Time Bomb, Spaceman, and Squirm. They call the album different, with a "new style" for DMB. The last we heard was that the album was closer to Crash than Stand Up, so take that however you'd like.

Thanks for the info, but Gianni actually posted a scan of said article on the last page.

I also thought Time Bomb was what was written on Stefan's sheet music in that one pic from before.

Judging from the comments of the RS article, that is definitely Shake Me Like a Monkey

I like it, and I really hope it is a completely different album from the band. They're not gonna make another BTCS so I'd welcome a reinvented sound from the band.

Really like the sound of that intro and the song sounds pretty fun. Is that a cheesy 80's synth though? Please no.
Do I listen to pop music because I'm miserable or am I miserable because I listen to pop music?
