I think it has to be. It's the most complete and developed song they played on the tour imo. Plus, it's only like 4 minutes long so it's radio friendly.
So was Joyride and we saw what happened there. From what they did in 2000 and 2004, who is to say that they won't just scrap everything again.
I concur.
I'll be honest to say that I think they recognized where they screwed up. I think I saw something where Dave admitted the songs on Stand Up weren't that good, or something like that. But I think that they know their mistakes, and this new guy helping out. So, I'm at least expecting this one to be better than Stand Up, which isn't really asking much.
i think you give them too much credit.
I'm an optimist. That and I'm trying to convince myself they can't produce an album worse than Stand Up.

I disagree. The progression of Can't Stop throughout the 06 summer tour is soooo promising

So much pessimism...
but I guess it's for good reason.
I don't know, I have good hopes for this album. Sorry for the others who don't feel that way. I'm sure you don't care either way though really.

i dont know. i have faith that this could be a good album, but if its subpar i wouldnt be surprised.
i guess i feel the same way about this cd as i did about incubus' light gernades before it came out. it could be great, i hope its great, but it probably wont be anything special

As long as they continue to release live trax, i couldn't care less about a new studio album.

Dave's voice back then pains my ear. Too whiny and screechy. I'm a bigger fan of tour somewhere between '99 and 2002. Dave's voice was just incredible in 2002, IMO.
But back on the subject of new album ... I've always tried not to criticize their music too much and look too much into it. Even with Stand Up, I enjoy the majority of the album, no it's not BTCS, but that may have been a once in a lifetime album. It may be their worse to date, but I don't frown when they play them live.
I don't see the new album impressing many of you real old-school fans. It's obvious that many of you that have been around since near the beginning don't like the direction the band is going in at all, which isn't a bad thing. But I don't mind them varying their musical approach with each album. I think they're tired of the same old, same old, so they're trying new things ... whether it sucks or not.
