Well for the shows I have attended the prices were different. First show I saw was at the Air Canada Center and tickets for nosebleeds were 86 dollars Canadian so about 75-80 dollars US. However for the other DMB show this year that I was at, tickets were 60 bucks for good seats at the Molson Amphitheater, both venues are in Toronto. I think the lowest I have seen tickets for is 44 dollars for lawn seats at the DMB show in 2004 which I missed. Still though thats alright considering how much I have paid to see The Eagles and Eric Clapton at the ACC, which were 115 and 110 respectively for both those shows. Then again most shows at the ACC are a ripoff cause the venue charges so much for artists to play there.
DMB shows attended: 4/12/05 - Molson Amphitheater, 9/12/06 @ Air Canada Centre.
Upcoming: DMB June 9th 2009 @ Molson Amphitheater

read the op, he is asking how much are they paid to perform/play a gig, not how much you pay.

Even if that was true, why would you pay $300,00.00 for OAR!?!? I wouldn't even pay $3.00

that makes perfect sense to me. merch is the big $$ maker. thinnkn about everyuthign that goes into puttiung on an event. its not cheap at all. and as expensive as we think the shows are, they are not bad AT ALL. I was gonna see toby keith and tickets at the same venue were i think $100 for shitty seats. How much are stones tickets?jsgksu wrote:Didnt someone say a while a go that the band doesnt even make money on tour until its like half over because of all their overhead?
fact is they dont get paid by the show.
if you wanted to hire for a show there is no set price. they play for free for charities often, they charge (they donate) to play, and i am sure once in a while they have played a private gig for set $.
so fact is, there is no price they play for.

Between all the guys they employ, the lighting and stage, them all having their own buses, all that shit, it must cost so much money to tour.checkii wrote:that makes perfect sense to me. merch is the big $$ maker. thinnkn about everyuthign that goes into puttiung on an event.jsgksu wrote:Didnt someone say a while a go that the band doesnt even make money on tour until its like half over because of all their overhead?

I live in Guelph/Hamilton, so I really dont have a permanent residence or a method of travel these days, being a poor student and all.proudestmonkey41 wrote:i was at all of those dmb shows... where abouts do you live?? im from oakville and another member on here is from barrie.. we've been jammin alot lately, send me a pm. we're always lookin for another person to play with if you're near bySaxMan123 wrote:Well for the shows I have attended the prices were different. In regards to the topic, considering what I paid and how many seats are in the ACC which is 19,800, even for the price I paid for a ticket times the number of seats if it was packed, there would be a 1.70 million dollar profit if all the tickets were sold, assuming all tickets cost nosebleed prices, so in retrospect the odds are that the band makes at least a million for one show considering tickets topped out at 150 for that one show. Alas they have to pay everyone for the tour as well before they get their share of the coin.

About two years ago somebody in my frat (for shits and giggles) wanted to see how much it would cost for dave to come play at an annual party we have in the spring. After a couple of weeks, somebody from Dallas who knew an agent who had the ability to negotiate for Dave said it would be roughly $75k to book him solo for one night (plus hotels, travel and what have you). This seems pretty low, but also alot more realistic.

the crazy thing is if that is true, and there were 300 people in london, and our tickets cost $35, the whole (one off show would have a revenue of under 10), i bet he just loves to perform.libertas08 wrote:About two years ago somebody in my frat (for shits and giggles) wanted to see how much it would cost for dave to come play at an annual party we have in the spring. get them for free if you do a charity thing or something with a dog.
