Medeski Martin and Wood is great jazz

He messes up every once in awhile. Have you ever played violin? Probably the hardest string instrument to play. period. And the guy's running all over the stage and he's absolutely WHAILING most of the time. He dosn't sound "terrible", his finger misses a mark by a millimeter and it's out of tune for a second. I wouldn't go so far to say "he sounds terrible on taped shows."

either way, people who showcase in operas and classical scores do harder, they might not have their music memorized but they do crazy stuff. Plus there are violinist out there who play faster, better, and stay in tune. not trying to get boyd down, he's a very strong part of the band, but ya.

MMW is incredible, especially when they play with john scofield.

In terms of technical skill, Al DiMeola is incredible. His latest electric stuff is great. I got a chance to see him last year with his band, and they were incredible.
