Alright I'll see if I can tackle the warehouse ticketing system question this morning but if I goof it up...and I may...someone feel free to come in behind me and clean it up.

Warehouse typically, and I emphasize typically, distributes its tickets on a priority system based on seniority in membership. Meaning that someone like skiizalot who has been a member for 5 years would have a better chance of getting tickets (and better seats possibly) than me since I have only been a member for three years. With me so far? Good!

Unfortunately this is one of those special shows (special is sorely an understatement I know) where they have only a limited number of tickets. Therefore Warehouse is blowing the seniority rules and making each show a pure random chance lottery. I doubt your chances for getting tickets at one venue are any better than another. These shows will ALL sell out like no one's business. (I see your 5-year priority bubble, skiizalot, and I hate to be the one to pop it.) Here it as as stated in the e-mail:

"The Warehouse will offer reserved seating and due to the limited availability of tickets, please note that all members will have the same opportunity to order tickets and seniority status will not apply to the seating assignments."

It's a bummer for us older members I know....

If memory serves me correctly you can only request 2 tickets per show and you can only request tickets for up to 5 shows in a period. A period being a tour run such as the entire D&T 2003 tour.

Unfortunately if you do win your tickets for all 5 shows that you requested, you will be bound into an agreement to pay for all the tickets within a day or two of being awarded tickets. I think Warehouse even makes you enter a credit card number for every show you request tickets for so they can automatically bill you.

If you do buy them all and can't afford to keep them then you can re-sell your tickets. I'm sure you wouldn't have a hard time finding a buyer ANYWHERE. The biggest stipulation (legally) about selling tickets is that you cannot re-sell them for more than the face value on the ticket. E-bay is a little sketchy because for these shows you would probably have a good opportunity to make money off of your tickets. I usually take my extra tickets to the message boards on Warehouse and make an offer.

I thought I read somewhere that the lottery system wouldn't be used for this solo tour...the rest was as you had it... 2 ticket max and a max for 5 shows/series.

...Im going just out of my memory though and that could be dangerous!! :shock:

Kevin, you hit the nail on the head. The only thing that I think you could add is the fact that most warehouse members sell their tickets for face value plus the misc taxes. You are not bursting my bubble by any account. I might put in for tickets just to see if I get lucky and hook up somebody that wouldn't have another way of attending. I want to go so bad it hurts when I pee. I have seen Dave solo, I have seen the band with Tim on stage, I have seen Tim solo,... but, I have never seen Dave and Tim. I would do anything to see them short of selling a nut. I wonder if they will record the Radio City Music Hall show for some DVD or cable special. Wouldn't that be cool?

Yeah those pesky "convenience fee" charges (convenient for WHOM) and taxes and make up a good part of the ticket price. It is definately safe to include those for the price you are asking for a ticket.

Skiizalot - what shows are you putting in for? Some friends of mine and I are going for two of the NC shows on 3/28 and 3/29. We have about 4 of us on warehouse hoping to get lucky otherwise we're going camping at a ticketmaster window.

I saw Tim with the Band in Atlanta in 98...that was a TREAT. I never thought I'd have a chance to catch a D&T show. Christmas has come really really early this year!

As of this minute I am probably putting in for Wisconsin and Michigan. I saw DMB and Tim on 11/4/98 at the Tacoma Dome, which I might add, is the worst place ever to see a concert. The sound bouncing off the top of the dome really sucked. I saw Tim solo Oct of 2001 at the Crocidile in Seattle. It was a pretty cool show, but we were all hoping Dave would show up since he lives there.

Okay, thanks for the info, but I'm still not totally clear...

Worst case scenario for us is we sign up for 2 tickets to 5 shows, and they want us to front all the money right then, regardless of whether or not we get the shows. Is that what they want?

And second, suppose we sign up for 5, and they pick us for 3, is it possible to refuse 2 shows and just keep the tickets for 1? Or will they make us buy them all?

They ask you for your credit card info so that if/when you do get assignments, they can charge you right away. You cannot refuse assignments; once you click submit you have entered into a legally binding contract to pay for the shows you are assigned.

Does anyone have any previous experience w/ the warehouse? I Placed orders for the Miami U., Purdue U., and Music Hall shows. What are the odds of getting all or any of those shows I requested? Any have past experiences or hunches?

The system's different this time around (no seniority benefits); it's pretty much just luck of the draw.
