I only listen to the hits on adult contemporary radio stations. It was followed by "when a man loves a woman" by Michael Bolton so that was a good double shot right there boy!Easy E wrote:hofdaddy wrote:alright. I just listened to TSB and it wasn't as bad as I remembered it

When I first heard I Did It I thought it was awful. When I heard the rest of the album, I thought it was awful. When I heard the Lillywhites I thought the band had lost their minds.
Everyday as an album still sucks. I don't mind it in and of itself, and most of the songs have grown on me. A couple are quite good (I truly like WYA, So Right, and IIHIA), but still over all it's a very weak effort. But it does have one great thing going for it: Stand Up is far worse, both as a whole and in pieces.

Whenever I listen to Everyday it is inevitable that I will compare it to other DMB albums and I can't help but think about how it marked the beginning of the band selling out musically. It makes it unbearable for me to listen to since, for me anyway, it marks the end of the band as I knew it. But just for that one time last week, I tried to listen to it in a different context. I didn't compare it to other DMB albums. I didn't let myself think about the debacle with Lillywhite and how this CD was created in 12 days. Instead, I tried to compare it to other pop rock bands. By doing that I was able to appreciate it for what it is. A pretty good generic pop album. I hope people understand what I'm trying to say.
Im not arguing with you. I was just browsing this thread and saw those two different ideas and was very confused.Nitro1515 wrote:Let me explain yet again.jellyfish wrote:Nitro1515 wrote:Not a chance.
