heard the Dave Solo show from Benaroya Hall on 10-24-02, I recomment that you do, cause there's some really nice performances by the good man. The Maker, Fool To Think, Stay, IBYU, Watchtower!!
the crowd is annoying but Dave reacts well. funny stuff on there too.
I like how for the first few minutes he tries, as politely as anyone can be, to tell them to shut up during the tunes. :D
good, and you?

I agree that is an excellent show. There are better Dave shows out there in terms of sound quality but this one is great, you shouldn't miss it.

Also, I think Dave and Tim have only ever done The Last Stop twice, and if you can find an mp3 of one of those shows, it's really cool without the rest of the band.

Yeah, the Dave Matthews Band really outdid themselves with that one, if only I could hear it in concert, I'd die a happy man.

Yeah it was a great show, too bad it was in the hall that the Seattle Symphony plays in. Though I suppose if you didn't know that then you wouldn't know why Dave spent the first 5 minutes or so politely telling everyone to shut up. Wasn't his rules, it was there's.

You mean Dave wouldn't care if people yelled over the top of his playing? I'm sure he did.

What rules what the Hall have regarding people yelling? I'm sure the venue couldn't care less what happens as long as nothing is destroyed.

I'm sure they didn't, being as though they had ushers telling people to quiet down, sit down, shut up, and generally kicking people out who wouldn't do that. The guy that was sitting next to me got the boot for being an idiot. The hall set the rules, not Dave.

i think it's ridiculous that dave should have to tell people to shut the fuck up, its so disrespectful and can just ruin an otherwise great show. i can't even listen to that show because the screaming people drive me insane. people need to learn to just sit and enjoy the moment, the audience isn't there to hear you yell out "two step" every ten seconds, the name on the ticket is dave matthews.

i agree - i don't know about the rest of you but i thought the crowd on l@lc was incredible .... they would always make sure d+t were finished b4 they started screaming/yelling/clapping/all that sort of stuff ... and they did incite some funny davespeak (i.e. the satellite "we done already done it done damn done" line)

yeah, but you have to remember, that was six years ago. dave matthews has gotten a lot bigger than he even was then. you can tell from his 10-24 show. people were just screaming things, while he was playing, after he had asked them not to. if you listen to some shows from early 97, like the elliot hall of music show, you can see his frustration. "it's kind've a mellow scene, so it would probably sound better if everybody could save the yelps until between the songs." it's not just the screaming, its the laser pointers and shoving around. its just too damn bad that people have to be so disrespectful at shows just to get some attention. i mean it will probably never change, but there's no reason why an audience can't be quiet and polite during a show.

Well lets examine a big difference between l@lc and 10/24. The l@lc show was recorded through a sound board, while 10/24 was recorded from right in the middle of the crowd. That equates to you hearing more of the crowd in a bootleg show than you would on a show that was run through a mixing board. Having been at the 10/24 show I'd have to say that at no time during any of the songs did I have a problem hearing Dave because people were too loud, but yes there were a few jackasses. Yes it did invite some interesting Davespeak. But thats what makes the show better, right? Overall I thought it was an awesome show done for an awesome purpose, that being charity. The only thing that pissed me off was the guy who kept yelling, "Angel from Montgomery." That tard was sitting a couple seats down from me. 55 bucks well spent, even the 5 dollar ticketbastard extortion charge.

makes me wonder if Dave asked them to kick out the rude people.......

he knew it was a charity show, maybe he wanted to have the best show for the people that were there, and having screaming asses in there wouldn't help make the correct atmosphere.

Aside from the occasional drunken screaming ass(they were serving wine & beer before the show) the crowd wasn't a problem. I really don't see what all the fuss is about.
