Or were none of those songs considered for Stand Up? Does playing new songs for an entire tour before recording an album not qualify as road testing?

They tried most of the summer songs in the studio. Hello Again and Joyride were on the album and bonus disc. And there was a thread a little while ago that was from Ants sayin that Sugar Will was in the sessions. Pretty sure they scrapped Crazy-Easy during the summer, which blows cause that song had potential. Good Good Time, imho, is a live song, not good for recording. Who knows, maybe they'll bring em back?bassman462 wrote:um they did NO road testing with the last album. except like hello again.littlefriend420 wrote:NJPearce22 wrote:ghillie wrote:Yay for road testingAll we're trying to do is write good songs and hopefully feel good enough to play them all summer before going into the studio againin the fall. if the songs weren't on the album then it doesn't count.littlefriend420 wrote:And Good Good Time, and Crazy-Easy, and Joyride, and Sugar Will...bassman462 wrote:um they did NO road testing with the last album. except like hello again.littlefriend420 wrote:NJPearce22 wrote:ghillie wrote:Yay for road testingAll we're trying to do is write good songs and hopefully feel good enough to play them all summer before going into the studio againin the fall. well its pretty simple logic. i mean there's no rules to road testing but. that would mean like ok say that they wrote good good time, grey street, what you are, and stand up before they did btcs. and they didnt play any of the songs on btcs before then, it was a completely new batch of songs then those new songs that played. can you say that they road tested for btcs. no because it was all new songs then previously. only one song from 04 made it onto the stand up album. therefor i guess you can say 1/14 of stand up was road tested. compared to there other albums that isn't anything. and why are you being so fucking arguementative over something that's really simple seriously.littlefriend420 wrote:What? i think everybody gets excited about road testing because when you get down to it most of the songs people think of as classics like ants marching, jimi thing, and warehouse and others were road tested because they didnt have a record deal. they had to play live. dont take this as fact but i would say that the majority of their songs are not road tested. some of the songs that they never road tested are also thought of as classics. when you hear the term road tested i think it takes people back to the early days. I dont think road testing or not road testing really effects the music they make. Either way the songs that appear on the album are not the same songs they play live. Everybody complained about BTCS being over produced when it came out. I dont think those songs were road tested and now those songs are thought of as classics(DDTW,Crush,Rapunzel, and Stay) And people said that Stand Up was over produced. Is stand up my favorite album? no Do i like batson? no
