Hi, im subotai, one day I decided to join this web community named dmbtabs, and posted vid's to help people learn dave matthews band's songs. I then took a stupid move and tried to say i was dave matthews, this was of course idiotic, because I had already given enough evidence to prove wrong. I currently like hanging around trying to prove stand up is the best album released in music history, and that old dirt hill is the best song ever written. I also enjoy making fun of guitarist who are much better then me, and bully young teenagers on the internet.

oh god not this guy again... no offense but i really cant stand justin king, (that guy) atleast his guitar work stuff, its all the same, just listen to some more songs mostly the same stuff. now his actual music stuff where he sings and has a band, thats decent. but this guy, what youre seeing is all he can do.

i cant stand most of the stuff when he sings, change it not a bad song... but overall his lyrics and voice is pretty lame IMO.. listen to the stuff on le Bleu.... its kinda.. well fruity

im not a fan of his other stuff, im just saying its easier to stand...

and the trace bundy comment, trace is similar to justin. just start listening ot some of his clips, hes got some good ideas and stuff, and hes got good technique and skill just it all sounds the same.

i disagree. i dunno how much youve listened to him, but his songs are definately differentiable in the melody and the techniques he uses. sometimes its more tapping, or more slapping and harmonics, or more strumming, or a combination of a things. i think trace is better.

oh im not saying it isnt talented.. but its just like he has a nickelbag of tricks he sticks to.

right. and i agree with that nickelbag of tricks thing...but if you think about (and not that doing that makes you good or bad either way) but dave does it...obviously we're not calling him a guitar virtuoso but its funny how people describe trace or justin as nickelbag players while a) we just havent seen any other stuff or b) lots of other players are technically like that but just dont get the description.

How does he make the tapping work on an accoustic guitar? A shitload of amplification?

yeah dave does do it, but its a bit different. its part of his style, with these other guys its being used to impress.

Yes I realize that, I've done it. But it takes too much strength considering the little sound it makes. It needs amplification to sound like that, doesnt it?
