I don't think too highly of you for even beginning to think that Dave Matthews, who openly opposes bigotry, would even consider putting such a thing into one of his songs. I also don't even know why you would pay attention to that part when it's so faint you'd miss it unless you were trying to hear something.

I think he's saying digger, or dig or some form of that.

Considering Dave's origin, roots and beliefs I don't think he would use language like that on a recording
