tim's autograph

tim is coming to my home town soon, and im a regular at the place he's playing at...i'm thinking of asking the owner if he'll let me bring my guitar up and get it signed by tim....is there any reason that this would be a bad idea?

I say go for it, but don't be pushy about it. Also, take it home immediately, cars get broken into.

Where do you want him to sign it? If it were me I'd take the strings off and see if He could sign the bridge below the last fret..that would be sweeter than havin it on the top..

uhhh....yeah, i was thinking of him signing the body, but like a foot long sig done w/ a fat perm marker. i don't want it to look like its a signiture maritn guitar, but just a bad ass autograph. i know the owner, so i'm thinking of doing it before the show, i'm sure they will let me up while he's set up, but i don't want to interfere with his routine. and i really but have any desire to put my nuts in his face, but that was funny

If you know the club owner and get there early, asking is the best policy, really.

I'm sure Tim doesn't have a huge entourage, access to him is prolly easier than one might expect.

Recently I met Ray Paczkowski from Trey Band, Vorcza, Dave and Friends when he was playing at the club I play at and I asked him how it was on the "boat" and he laughed and we talked about perofrming with Daniel Lanois and Emmylou Harris and a bunch of other shit. When you talk to these guys like you would any other person you'd be surprised how friendly and accomodating people can be. Don't gush that's all.

no, that's the perfect guitar to get signed by him. honestly, his signature will just make the guitar drop in value immensly, so i wouldnt get a really nice guitar signed, but I also wouldnt have him sign a beater. perfect balance, its a taylor, its nice (i think an underrated guitar at times) guitar, should be pretty sweet.

like they said, just go early, tell the owner your intention, cruise in during sound check, introduce yourself, ask him to sign, end of story.
