I find it funny how people rip on this whole cruise thing. People suggesting that it was all for profit and etc. It is intresting that most of you seem to over look the fact that dave played in 3 places, 30+ songs, over a span of 9 hours. It looks more like Dave cared about the fans enough to do what he did. It would have been so easy for him to say, "well fuck it." But no...how many times have you seen a musician play into the hours of the morning and travel to and from 2 cruise ships and an island to make sure the fans didn't come in vain? Seriously...if this whole cruise thing was for some other purpose then I'm pretty sure Dave would have stopped playing after the first set. Instruments were waterlogged and most of the equiptment destroyed, but they kept trying. Also consider the storm...would you all still be bitching if dave played a full set on the island? Chances are yes, because everyone seems to be anal around this place. No offence intended. Seriously, think what you want to, but to overlook the details is just plain stupid.

i would have been happy to go.
some people are saying dmb are selling out,
however, they tour loads with a much much lower ticket price than say u2 or coldplay.
i think the cruse was a good idea and would have been great fore a load of dmb fans to chill out together.
Gervais on Rosa Parks "she was arrested but then that law was changed- but she didnt stop there, she started sitting in the seats saved for disabled people. unbelavable, she talked to the driver when the bus was in motion- did she have the correct change ready? - did she bollox!"

Yeah it was nice what he did but lets be honest, those people payed top dollar to see him so in a way he owed it to do something after having to cut the original set short. If Dave didn't do that I think everyone would be extremely dissappointed in him.dmberic2000 wrote:I find it funny how people rip on this whole cruise thing. I honestly can't even imagine being stuck on a boat with all those people who paid that much to see Dave on an island, honestly anybody that's got that much disposable income I will most likely NOT like.
Cruise ships are not fun, believe me.
We're not missing out at all. If anything I was tempted to get sattelite recon and go SEAL style from a HALO drop and swim my way into the "secret island" - but I renegged after realizing staying home and writing my own songs would be more rewarding.
EDIT: Now I wish I would have been there lol!
