a while ago, i remember somebody hosted an acoustic version of Digging a Ditch, it was from some live show, it was either D+T or just Dave. Well I downloaded it and now I can't find it on my hard drive, so I was wondering if anyone had it or any acoustic version of digging a ditch? thanks
I hope this is what you were looking for, it's D&T from 03-06-99.

agreed. somewhat. compared to Leave Me Praying, or a live version of it it sucks. But in the context of the album it's great. how about that for a cop out.

i refuse to accept that. i think lillywhite fucked up on that track. it sucks. it makes me want to change cds. there isnt anything about it that is better than a live, say CP, version. and you cant pull the "its more fitting to the albums feel" card cuz Stay isnt even close to that feel.

#34 is amazing. It's such a deep song that sometimes it seems that the song reflects however you feel at that moment no matter what feelings you have. Depression, joy, serenity, all of these are expressed equally in this amazing song.

I think #34 is one of the weakest DMB songs, IMO. Usually, instrumentals are full of changes and keep me interested. Look at songs like Nothing Too Fancy, and Inlaw Josie Wales, instrumentals that actually "communicate" to the listener. I think #34 should have kept its lyrics and stayed a mediocre song with a cool riff.

Agreed, it can make me feel so happy, or keep me down where I wanna be. It's got a great flow.

i did a little more searching and found out who hosted it (coldchillin), so i'll just ask him

I think Cigarette Lit is just great. That song should have made the cut.

I like it as a lead in to Last Stop. I happen to think that it's still very well produced like everything else Lillywhite did with the band - Dave's voice especially sounds really good with the mild echo effect in there. Alanis Morisette doesn't do anything for me, but Tim has some cool little bits in there (I believe) and Bela's banjo fills are awesome.

I've always thought of this song as a great contrast between live and studio; in the studio it's a slow, haunting ballad, while live versions are a bit faster and higher energy...they sound a lot different but I definitely still enjoy the studio version equally.

hmm, I love the BTCS cut of DDTW. It just kind of has a nice, slow groove to it. I dunno.

I like it too, I prefer the live versions but I think it is a great foundation to the song, almost 2 seperate song in my mind. The BTCS version seems to focus more on the message, live is all about intensity
